      Hello i'm a newbie! :]

      Hello everyone!
I am new to the whole lucid dreaming stuff. I find it very fascinating and now because it is summer I can finally take it up. I have started my DJ so I can begin dream recalling. I’m still a bit confused about dream recalling but I am a quick learner. If you happen to have any tips that would be lovely. I do pretty well at remembering my dreams, especially if I have a couple vivid ones, but I am still new to this whole thing. Hope to see everyone around! :]

      Welcome!

Dream recall is just how much of a dream and how many dreams you remember after waking up. You'll want to get one or more a night to be effective to do a lot of the lucid-inducing techniques. Mainly I urge you to surf through the tutorial section (http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...splay.php?f=25) and check out the excellent information there. Don't be shy to ask questions.

      See ya 'round.

Welcome to DV, PlasticSheep! We're glad you joined us and if there's anything we can do to help, just let us know. Feel free to browse around and take a look at the info we have scattered around the forums or just start a thread if you can't find something. Or, if you get stuck with anything, let any of the Dream Guides (the guys and gals with the green names) know and we'll do our best to point you in the right direction.

As far as dream recall, there are a few things you can do. Eventually, if you like you can look at the Dream Recall Tutorial, but as far as some quick advice, here's what I'd say. First off, write down your dreams. Even if you wake up and you don't have much time or don't feel like recording your dream(s), make yourself write at least something down. I used to have great recall when I was younger and then one day it all went away. If you're low on time, just write down a synopsis of what happened and then go back and fill in the details when you have more time. Secondly, if you're having trouble recalling anything when you wake up, try not to move. When you start moving, you start focusing more on the physical world than what you just dreamed and you'll start to forget. So when you first awake, just lie there and think of what you were dreaming about. Once you have it in your head, grab your journal, write down a summary, and then fill in the details.

Other than that, just be persistent. You can keep a DJ here on DV if you like, but you don't have to unless you feel like sharing your dreams with the rest of us

Also, I love your avatar and signature! Just thought I'd mention that See you around!

Welcome to the forums! My quick tip which I just figured out yesterday is do A LOT of reality checks. If you don't know what that is just look it up on the forums. I didn't start doing them regularly until yesterday. I put a question mark in sharpie on the front and back of my hands and every time I saw them I would do a reality check. As a result I had a nice lucid dream last night. Good luck!
