I need help seperating dream body from real body - *Good read for noobies*

It's a long read, but it should show some noobies what happens before you become lucid for a WILD but I am also looking for some advanced tips.

So I have to admit I have been slacking on my lucid dream attempts but every night before bed I always have it on my mind and I attempt DILDs. However I don't set my alarm anymore to attempt WILDs - but if I wake up in the middle of the night I do attempt them. These last few weeks I've had 2 lucid dreams that haven't been exciting but they have been a start. Not long though. However, having lucid dreaming on my mind has caused me to have the most vivid dreams of my life. One of my previous lucid dreams was a chain of false awakenings where I simply did a reality check, got excited and woke up. This one tonight is very similar....

This morning I woke up after about 5 hours of sleep to go to the bathroom and decided to attempt a WILD. I kept lucid dreaming on my mind, got comfy, and let myself fall asleep while saying "i am dreaming" over and over in my head.

I hit sleep paralysis and it woke me up, but this was good because I immediately fell back asleep knowing I was going to be dreaming - and I was aware of it. I felt my body get tingly and heavy, then I waited a couple seconds (idk the time frame) and did the nose rc. It worked, so I tried getting up. False awakening. Again, tingling, heavy body, rc. I try to get up.

My entire body moves but my head is glued to the pillow. Stuck. I didn't know what to do. How do I get past this? I THINK I wasn't 100% sure it was my dream body so I was afraid if I moved my head I would wake up..but I'm not sure why this happened.

False awakening. Again, tingling, heavy body, no rc, I know I'm dreaming. I remember reading to rub your hands and get in touch with your dream senses before you can fully be in control. I rub my hands, touch senses are in tact. I look around and it's just my bedroom but not as real. I finally get up - I'm standing in my room. It's very tough and I feel very heavy. I try jumping but I only get off the ground a few inches. I say to myself when I turn around, my friend will be there, I turn around and see a dark figure that I can't make out. Nothing happens of it.

      I wake up.

So could someone who lucid dreams frequently point me in the right direction? Where and what should I have done? Why was my head stuck? I couldn't seperate my dream body from my real body?
      Thanks.

I've never heard of anything like that before. I admit that I've never had a lucid dream, but I've been doing hours of research a day and may be able to help.

I can't tell whether you were fully lucid or not... but if you knew you were dreaming, did you try willing your body to become lighter, telling yourself, "This is a dream, so gravity doesn't have to exist?" Did you try to will your head off the pillow, not forgetting that you were in a dream? You said you weren't 100% sure you were in your dream body, which may be part of the problem. When you jumped, did you try to stay off the ground, or did you think about how heavy you felt? Basically, in dreams, you're God. Nothing has to happen if you don't want it to. If this doesn't make a difference, then I don't know what will.

Thanks for the reply. I was definitely VERY close to full lucidity when I remembered to try and get everything more vivid by getting my senses in touch. I think I read a few threads down that in order to get out of sp you need to "roll" out of your body and I was simply trying to sit up out of bed. I know a sign of sp is your body paralyzed so maybe I needed to wait a little longer? But once I did get out of bed I was thinking of flying through the roof but maybe I guess I didn't believe it enough because it had the opposite effect lol. I think my mind was still in such a real situation because I was in my room and I'm so new at 'defying real life' stuff. Kinda like Neo when he first tried to jump across the building in the matrix.

I hope to have the same effect tonight, now that I've experienced it. We'll see.

Even if what you try doesn't work at first, don't give up. Try new techniques, or just practice ones you know. You'll get there.

I have WILDs a lot like yours every once and a while, where I feel heavy and out of control of my body. I think it's because I'm only half asleep and I'm still vaguely aware of my sleeping body. The only thing I've found that helps is to get out of the room I WILDed into, but that's difficult sometimes. Just keep trying.

That sounds interesting. The other night i had a dream that i don't remember much of, but I do remember realizing it was a dream. I also remember begininning to cause unreal events. But i had to stop them, and accidently end my dream when i heard, or thought i heard, one of my parents returning home, in the dream that is. I think this is very strange. How can i stay in control while dreaming? This is not a dream i have induced, but i sometimes just have them. I really want to start inducing them too. Where should I start? Well i mean i've tried some things off and on without much success, but so where should I start now?
      Dreams are cool......yaaaaa.
