What difference are you looking for? I know that visions, which happen suddly while awake and can very well save your life, uses OOB, but it is apparent, like a dream. I have only had two of these in my life, and both of them were aimed at stopping me from my own stupidity (would that I had more of them!). One definitely saved my live and perhaps others.

However, one will notice, if they do hard core examination, there are always differences in the OOB, enough to tell you that you never actually left your body.

A "lucid dream" is very simply a dream where you know you're dreaming. That's about it. From there, different types of dreams and experience branch off in all directions. If you're interested in OBEs and the like, check out the Beyond Dreaming sub-forum here at DV and you'll find others who are also seeking and providing information and opinions.

Control or funky experiences aren't required for a dream to be lucid. You just have to be aware you're dreaming.
