      Well that was odd...

Last night when I went to bed, I kind of tilted my body a bit so, instead of sleeping on the normal pillows I used, my head was on my body pillow. I drifted asleep, not thinking of anything. My mind was completely clear. Then, I saw a bright light in my mind, I felt like I was spinning, and falling at the same time into the light. My eyes shot open and my room seemed to be spinning, and instead of being dark it was dim. I quickly sat up, and it stopped. My room was pitch black to my eyes again.

Also, when the thing happened I heard an odd noise. When it stopped all I heard was my fan spinning above me.

Anyone know what just happened? After that I had a fast heartbeat, but I ignored it and went back to sleep. Long vivid dreams followed.

The light you saw might be one of those hallucinations that come with SP, same for the noise you heard, i think you were about to go into SP but got out of it. i never experienced SP before but I've read a lot
or maybe it could have been some "glitch" in your brain.

I have to agree, that definitely sounds like the later stages of SP; something extremely similar happened with me the other day when I was attempting to WILD.

Definitely sounds like hypnagogic hallucinations. Possibly caused by sleep paralysis.

Next time, just relax and keep your eyes closed. If you see any imagery, try to hold on to it, and if everything turns out well, you'll be dragged into the dream.

I would be happy about, I've only been able to WILD twice ;/ Good job.

      Well, this is good then!

And on another note, isn't it rare to get WILD's when you're first falling asleep?

Well you can WILD during an afternoon nap, soooo not really. Normally though you have to be REALLY exhausted for this to happen, or be REALLY skilled at meditation. Either or sounds like you were just tired though, all in all I'd say it's a good thing.
