I have been Cancer all my life; and generally, the characteristics have been accurate. However, with the recent attention on the astrological signs possibly being off by a day or two, I looked into it and found I am now a Gemini? Nah. Hmm, now I wonder if there is some sort of chicken before the egg kind of thing going on...you think you are a Cancer all your life, so you are...

The constellations have changed, but the sign remains the same. In the tropical zodiac which we use, the signs are based on the seasons not the constellations. The constellations are just illustrations in the book. But the story is the same even if the illustrations are on different pages. If you used the Vedic Astrology of India, which is drastically different than what we are used to, then you would be a Gemini. However, they use whatever constellation your moon was in when you were born, not your sun. So the Zodiac has not changed at all.
