      the self-help junkie thread

anybody else who can be described as such???

I am into self help since I was 14 years and I am much, much older by now

I dropped all the books since 2 years and I only listen to hypnotic stuff on daily basis

      anybody with similar stuff???

I meant people, who actually tried out the stuff they read and watched

we can substitute for succes junkie, if you like that expression better

Hi, my name is Coder and I am a success.

Of all the things I have done, listening to Anthony Robbins' and Jonathan Parker's tapes repeatedly has had the most profound effect.

There are just too many simple yet important things that they don't teach in school about how to drive yourself.

Example given: you can control your brain like a search engine by asking it questions. It will always try and find an answer no matter how silly the question. Stupid questions, like "Why does this always happen to me?", will make you feel bad and negatively affect your performance. Good ones, like "What can I learn from this?" will make you feel better and improve the quality of your life.

So... What would happen if you wrote down 5 good questions and read them every morning, first thing after waking up? Try it for a few weeks before evaluating the results...

      Examples:
What can I look forward to today?
What can I be grateful for?
What can I be proud of?
What can I be excited about?
What can I be passionate about right now?

yep, Anthony Robbins is the shit

      I got a better idea

put yourself into a mild trance and see what answers you can come up with then ... we only use 10% of our brain ... they forget to mention, that the rest is unconcious potential, not conscious potential

I've been into self-help type stuff since around 14 too. I guess it all started with an avid interest in psychology and the unconscious. I started meditating, self-hypnosis, thought awareness/ guidance, and reading about psychology to optimize my life ever since then. I have TONS of stuff that I've written down devoted to self-help lol like goals, schedules, quotes/affirmations, just to keep my negative unconscious inclinations from taking over the awareness of my better nature and it's goals.

I've never used any auditory aid for self hypnosis, maybe you can direct me to some good ones?

      try Paul Mckenna`s Positivity

      10nlp talk tracks + 10 hypnotic tracks

if he says "do not listen to this cd while driving and operating machinery", that`s the hypnotic track, it`s usually the second on the cd, that`s what you want to put on your ipod

      you`ll find it
