Sawyer/James from Lost. Most of it is the character's personality though. I can tell this because I thought nothing of him in the first episode. It was only after a few episodes that I started to become attracted to his personality, and then his appearance became incredibly attractive too. I've explained this before somewhere in this thread but to me, male attractiveness has so much to do with personality.

I've realized that I tend to be extremely attracted to men who are like pinapples (wait let me explain), who have tough shells and are sweet inside. Or maybe not pineapples, because their shells aren't that hard. Maybe like a coconut with a pineapple inside. Yeah... anyway, what I mean is that I'm attracted to men who put on extreme acts to the world, who seem tough, but are actually lovable and affectionate in secret toward the person they love.

I'm not sure why I'm like this exactly, maybe because I feel like I'm the one person who can influence this extremely tough guy (if I were in a relationship with him) and so I feel control. Or maybe because I feel his emotions are worth more because he normally attempts to hide them. Or because I feel special that I'm the one person he chose. Or because I'm a bit like this and it feels more intimate and meaningful to share affection with someone else who hides it. Like affection is cheapened or something if it's shown to the world. James/Sawyer seems to fit this coconut-pineapple description very well to me. He's so tough but whenever he's with a woman he loves and gets all gentle it's just so fucking sexy. He's also really intelligent. If it weren't for that the pineapple thing itself wouldn't do it for me. It's also that he's an underdog. Interestingly, I noticed that when some alternate-universe thing happened in which he was a cop instead of a conman, I didn't like him anymore. I'm not attracted to many men so a find like this is rare.

Dianeva, did you watch Beauty and the Beast a lot as a kid?

Personally, I got really attracted to John Locke on Lost because of his personality, wanting to believe in something bigger, like destiny and the island (and not hating such beautiful nature like the rest of the dumb clueless Losties), and general smart badassery in season 1... at least before the writers molded him into having such an uglier, more pathetic and stupid personality.
