I'd be much more afraid of someone who is completely unable to safely control their vehicle a few km/h above the speed limit than your average driver pushing 115 on the highway.

If you want to eliminate any risk, then perhaps the sidewalk is for you.

Nobody can safely control their vehicle when something unexpected happens.
Like a kid running out on to the road, a car in front or beside of you might swerve out of control if the tire pops (or even your tire could pop) etc.

That's why there's certain speed limits on certain roads.

And if you keep a 3 second gap between you and the car in front of you. You will be able to avoid most crashes on that particular road.
