Tbh, I don't see anything with this. How often do we even get these threads? Three, maybe four every once in a while? All he's asking for is a view to help his career. If he was whoring for likes or trying to sell us a product it'd be a different matter but this is just like someone posting some graphic work they've done in Artists's Corner and asking people to take a look.

It is exploiting - he's asking people to spam all their friends and contacts with a commercial. It might be legit - maybe he really did do the score, or it could just be trying to get us all to become spambots. But either way these commercials are getting shown to a lot of people without the company actually paying advertising fees. The OP isn't really the one doing the exploiting - I think it's unscrupulous of companies to do these "contests" so they end up getting amateurs to do scores or animation or whatever for free, and then the contestants all spam everybody they know with the commercial and ask them to spam everybody THEY know, and so on, and so on...

If companies can get amateurs to do it for free, plus get free advertising as well, there are less jobs for the professionals. The number one rule in corporate art is "NO SPEC!". Which means you don't do any work for a "client" who says any of the following. "Oh I just want to see how good you are" "I will have tonnes of jobs for you in the future" "If you do a good job, I'll pay you for it" "I can't pay you but this work will be great for your portfolio" "I can't pay you, but I have lots of contacts in the industry and I will be able to get you heaps of work!" This competition complies with 3 of those. Don't do it. You'll regret it when you become a professional and start losing work to crowd sourcing.
