Recently I had a long chat with someone very close to me, and for once it was actually quite a serious discussion. This person is a woman that I am close friends with despite her being over 10 years older than me, I often talk to her because I have a lot in common with her.

I basically told her how my life was going because I hadn't seen her in a while and I have changed a good bit since the last time I talked to her, she was shocked to hear that I had given up art which was my only hobby excluding being on the computer

I have really gone off art, mainly because I don't have the patience and I just lost interest, and I was just wondering if people had any hobbies excluding anything to do with the computer, like playing games or whatever, and it might give me an idea or something like that.

Basically, just talk about your hobby
Lord of the Rings quotes:

"Behold, I am not Gandalf the Grey, whom you betrayed. I am Gandalf the White, who has returned from death. You have no colour now, and I cast you from the order and from the Council." - Gandalf to Saruman, The Two Towers

"Men of Gondor and Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails... when we forsake our friends, and break all bonds of fellowship... but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when all hope comes crashing down, but it is NOT this day! This day, we fight! For all that you hold dear, stand, Men of the West! - Aragorn

"Far off yet is his doom, and not by the hand of man will he fall." - Glorfindel

"in Rivendell there live still some of his chief foes: the Elven-wise, lords of the Eldar from beyond the furthest seas. They do not fear the Ringwraiths, for those who have dwelt in the Blessed Realm live at once in both worlds, and against both the Seen and the Unseen they have great power." - Gandalf

I haven't had much time lately with exams but now that they are over I have started to draw again and I go jogging some times at night.

i like to skateboard. i do it almost every day and every weekend. pretty much, when i'm not on the computer, i'm skateboarding, at school, sleeping, or going to the bathroom.

i've also been trying to learn how to hack, program, code. i find it really interesting and it sounds like it will be useful in the future.

and i like to make home videos. usually they suck, but i've had about 2000+ views on one video on youtube.

oh! and i very recently started to draw/sketch

My only real "hobby" would be weight training. Other than that it's eat, sleep, and just hang about waiting for something interesting to happen.

I have a few hobbies.

I really just like talking to people I can relate too. I like to have a nice discussion with someone
As weird as it sounds, arguing is also one of my hobbies. When I say Argue I mean that in a good way. Debates, and arguments kinda way.
I play quite a bit of video games, though not as much as I used to.
One of my favourite passtimes is Extreme Sports... I love the adrenalin rush. Rock Climbing (free style, no harness, cause im all cool like that ), Offroading/ATVing, Snowboarding, Bungee Jumping, Sky Diving (though I've only gone twice... technically Im not allowed to though, Im only 16 ), and more. Paintball is also fun, though I play a little more extreme version

But lately, I have found my self a passion for writing. I just write small scripts and stories. Im working on a story right now that I hope will turn out good. Will be my first released work.

I wouldn't mind getting a diving licence. I went once in the Dominican Republic, and I'd love to do it again.

Hmm...
If video games count, then yes, I certianly do have a hobby. I just try to get the most out of them- first buy it, play it until you've completeted it at least once or twice, and then look for modifications, which can be pretty plentiful for certian games. Half Life 2 has thousands!
Other than that... Skiing. Strange sport for me to fixate on, but I LOVE it! Not cross-country, of course. I always thought that was boring. I don't try to do stunts, either. I don't go off of many jumps, but going down steep (60 degrees or so at times) slopes can be pretty exciting.

So far, I've only taken Karate back when I was younger. I've got my heart set on Kung-Fu, too, () and I was really close to just jumping into it, but I have a friend who's boyfriend has been doing martial arts for a really long time and knows 5 different styles. His advice to me, being that I plan on learning more than just one or two styles, is to start with something like Boxing, which will give me a good fighting foundation. I'm going to take that into consideration and maybe start with kickboxing first, and then move into Kung-Fu (traditional, not the flashy type) and maybe something like Akido after that, but I'm not sure. Kung Fu is the one I'm most looking forward to, though.

Martial Arts are fun. Esspecially when you learn multiple styles and mix them together. Its awesome playing with people who have no clue what your doing

For example, I know a lot of Karate and Tae Kwon Do, know quite a bit of Jeet Kune do and Judo, know some JiuJutsu, and am going to start learning Ninjutsu should I ever find a nearby gym

I've got quite a few, but here are some of my favorites:

Biking - I do both road biking and mountain biking, as well as cruising. Biking is great because it's not too expensive, its good excercise, and it opens up a lot of things. I recently built a custom chopper bike, and I like working on my other bikes. Also a great alternative to driving short distances.

Chainmail - Making chainmail is fairly easy, and quite cheap once you buy the tools you need (still only about $40). I make bracelets, chains, gauntlets, etc, and I'm going to start decorating a jacket soon. Check out www.mailleartisans.org if you wanna get started.

Hackysack/Juggling - Both fun, fairly easy to pick up, but almost impossible to master. Hackysack is much more fun with a group, especially when you're first starting.

Most of all, if you're looking for a new hobby, find something interesting. I love designging and working on things, which is part of the reason I enjoy bicycling and weaving maille.
Well life is short, so love the one ya' got, 'cause you might get run over or you might get shot.

Mine....
Dreaming.
Lusting after lucidity.
I used to write poetry and short stories.
Also used to draw alot.
Photography.
Currently working on reading all of Stephen King's stories.
Been slacking on expressing my creative side lately. Think I'll get back to that.
Been wanting to take up a martial art or boxing.
Also want to learn how to spelunk.

I really should get off my ass and get doing stuff before I get too old.
Maybe if a bunch of us takes up the martal arts thing we can all get together one time and kick each other's asses.

Current #1 hobby (since I recently returned from class) is Judo. Love it, and if I could I would be in the dojo (gym) every day! Still waiting for my yellow belt, though.

Other hobbies: watching TV, but there are only a couple of shows I'm really set on watching. I also love to write stories, but they're long and there's always a lot that I want to add to them so I've never finished one (outside of class - although I don't necessarily finish those, either). I'm trying to teach myself how to draw, too, but I don't know if that's officially a "hobby" yet.

And when I get my throwing knives for Christmas (top of my list), I'm sure that'll be a hobby as well

I used to be an opera singer, and cooking was my hobby. Then I went to culinary school and I'm about to start working as a pastry chef (this Friday in fact), so music will be my hobby heh.

I also enjoy gardening and growing edible stuff like herbs, peppers, and heirloom tomatoes.

I love to draw and consider myself fairly good at it, especially since I never took any lessons. Everyone else in my family is really bad though, so I don't know where it comes from. Besides that, I love to read, play softball, and sometimes work on my chess skills. I also like to write when I'm not forced to one specific topic.

On the computer, I love to "Mod the Sims 2". It's so fun, and it really taught me a lot about computers, game design, and meshing. I'd really like to be a game developer/programmer when I get older, and I'm getting some great practice.
