      I thought the stuff on his lips was yellow blood or something. So his neck has a mouth and it's eating the rainbow?

      Yes, otherwise, the rainbow would have a perfectly "U" shape to it where it started cutting into his skin (depending on the effectiveness of the rainbows edge, it's user's applied pressure). I'm also going to assume you never cut yourself with a rainbow....it actually bleeds like hell.
