      have a money question

Don't know where else to post this but does a company have the right to hold on to someone's money? I have a job and I have a gambling problem and take meds... They give me a little bit of cash everyday so I will take my meds. But when I don't show up one day they get kinda upset or angry. I think it's an ok idea but shouldn't I have the right to get all of my spending money? Could I bring the law into this if I chose?

Are you saying they give you money daily, because you show up and take your meds? this is a job?

If it is a job, maybe you fold towels, or sweep or such, they certainly do not have to pay you if you do not show up.

If you get an allowance for showing up and taking meds, then again, why would you get paid if you do not show up?

If instead you have a regular job and earn a pay check, but someone is dolling it out to you daily "for your own good" they would need a court order to do this.

Do you want to share more details?

It's really hard for anyone to give you legal advice online without a lot more details, like siavson asked.

Also, how old are you, and in what country are you working and live?

sivason is correct then. They cannot withhold pay unless you are declared unfit, have a caretaker, and a myriad of other legal stuff. You can probably contact a workplace lawyer for a free consultation. Typically, colleges will have junior attorneys who need experience.
