Legally if you wanted to you could fill up a bottle of water from a hose in your backyard and sell it. I actually have a feeling that 80% of bottled watered is just tap water.

Hey, I'm not buying it.

And the reason I buy bottled water is I don't trust the water in the dorms here at school. I'd rather spend sixty cents on a gallon of water than drink the crap that flows through these pipes.

....oh Oregon, how I long for your water once again.

How stupid can people be. I'll bet you that at least 60% of the retards who aren't richer than god that buy that water throws out the bottle.

It's things like this that makes me want to die.

Of course they threw out the bottle. They already drank the 2 cents worth of water in it, why would they keep it?

Yeah, Penn & Teller did an episode of Bullshit! all about bottled water, it was pretty funny, they filled ordinary water bottles with garden hose tap and sold it at a super inflated price.. They said one bottle was from the glaciers of (something I forget) and their reaction was "Yes, it does have a very glaciery taste to it".

I drink tap as much as I can, but bottled water is so convenient!

I had about a hundred empty crushed water bottles and I took them to the recycling center and got ...

$2.62, enough for a big bag of skittles (which I bought with it).

I'm sorry, are you actually surrounded by people who are buying and drinking this?

I am from "the United States" and have never heard of this. No one I know would ever consider buying it. It is starting to get on my nerves when people blame "Americans" for the stupidity of "the few".

Agreed. There might be something stupid about painting everyone with the same brush, though.

As I know a friend who works for the water department in Cleveland. He has seen some pretty shady stuff go on in the water treatment plants.
The bad news. Their water test at a higher standard of purification than that of the bottled water that everyone buys that comes from the
purist high mountain cap springs.

hah.

i don't even get the thing with regular bottled water.
let alone that.

I mean...i always thought you bought a bottle of water so you could drink it, and then refill it, so you have something to hold your water.

apparently not.

Uhhh...

this might just be me, but, I can instantly tell "good" water from "bad".

The stuff that comes out of the taps here in Auckland, NZ, is fairly decent compared to other cities. But, you can just TASTE that it;s yuck tap water. Bottled water is much better, much healthier.

But, the best water, comes directly from rivulets and springs, for instance, in the hikingtrails along the Coromandel. There MAY be dirt particles and stuff in it... but you can just TASTE that it's good water. At our bach (holiday home) in Coromandel, NZ, we have the tap water directly from this mountain spring. There's always a bit of particles in it, but, by god, the shit is just the BEST water ever.

But, back to the topic: Would I buy a US$40 bottle of water? Well, put it this way: I wouldn't buy it for the water. I'd buy it four the bottle. And, I think that's sort of the point of this product.

It's gotta be said, The bottle looks kinda stupid. The kind of thing I'd buy if I had a ridiculously large chain with my initials, wore a hoody, had gold and diamond teeth thingies, tattoos, and a stupid-ass car that bounces and stuff.

I dunno. I guess, I'm not that kinda guy.

Exactly my thought on it. People are so boned up about chances to call Americans stupid that one stupid thing that a few idiots do is talked about like it represents the whole country. If what we do is so stupid, the rest of the world can prove it by suddenly not mimicking everything we do. I can't wait until the rest of the world stops putting us on such a pedestal. Whether negative or positive, when you obsess over something, you are putting it on a pedestal.

I refer to this exact show at least once a week in conversation. Im lucky that my work (customer care rep) sells its bottled water at 50 cents, which is only 5 times what it should cost. But the other day I walked into a seven eleven to find bottled water selling HIGHER than soda. Last time I checked... water was the most abundant resource on earth. Appartently, its now mountain dew.
