Thread: How do you feel about meeting DV members in person?

Not sure mate, we will give it a go tomorrow and talk and stuff with our Englishness

I'd do it, I'd probably just watch though at first and type. See how it went. Also might need a webcam. Possibly the web chat room could be an invitation-only kind of thing.

we can go tomorrow, or we can wait and let more people know so they can come too, you can have a pretty large number of cams going in one room at once but you can only activly view/converse with a max of 8 I beleive, though your able to switch the cams your viewing at anytime, I don't know how many of you guys have webcams but it seems like a good amount.

I was in a stickam room with around 200 people once, that was only when someone minorly famous came on.

There are many members on DV, that I would love to meet. Like, the Cat Doctor, Oneironaut, Oneironaught and some others.

This place is stuffed with cool people, though I don't think I would want to stay with anyone for more than a day, since besides lucid-dreaming, we are very unlikely to share any interests, but who knows? Might become pearl friends

Two things that make me nervous: video cameras and being on some one else's speaker phone.

I don't have a webcam (well, I do, but I don't know where it is and it's a cheap pice of junk) and have no interest in getting one. So, like Oneironaught here, I'll just feel left out, though without that whole mildly depressed bit.

You dont have to have a cam to sign up and chat with others though - This is not a closed invitation to webcam owners only. Everyone is welcome to sign up and chat

Sorry that's because its a public chat room so had to put a password on it to stop people outside DV coming in who we don't want in there. If we are in there again tonight will post the room and password in here. We should try get more people in there!!! It was funny!!

It doesn't work with iSight, which sucks a lot.

Whats iSight? Is that just an Apple Browser?

iSight is the webcam/mic that's built in as standard in Macs. Absolutely brilliant quality, just compatibility seems to suck.

Ah ok, that sucks then! I have an external Microsoft cam which seems to work ok I think. You can still come in chat though, you dont need a mic/cam.

Its a lot faster than the flash chat on DV too

Flash player was just being annoying.
