Don't take it personally, but in a way...yeah a bit. Or at least from my perspective. I don't understand what 80% of the topics were or words you used mean. Is this lecture for people who are knowledegable about these topics so you all can discuss it further or is it for people like me who have no clue whatsoever what you're talking about?

I see it was a mistake to call it a lecture.. I though it would just get more attention - obviously the wrong attention, lol.

Note; so.. my vocabulary and choice of words makes me seem like a smart-ass, huh? lol.. dang it..

I intended it as a discussion for people who have not studied logical fallacies so that they can know. So, it is intented to mentor it for people who do not know logic. Since there are many young people on the board, I thought it would be a good idea to share logical fallacies as, when I was young, it was something I appreciated the most.

      What do you think...?

I think it's a great idea now that I seem to have grasped the concept a bit more...I wouldn't mind sitting in and listening so I can understand this. I'll try and make it.

Due to the "calibre" of DV patrons and what happens when discussions take place or anything like that, I will not be attending.

I disagree, I think you're fine the way you are. Everyone communicates differently, and the way you're doing it really does seem like who you are to me. Just because you use bigger words than a lot of people on here, or want to give a "lecture" or whatever, doesn't mean anything. It seems like that's who you actually are and you're being genuine. People just like to pick sometimes. Or they get in a mood or whatever. Don't worry about it and don't think you have to alter or edit yourself or the way you talk or whatever. You're not some raging asshole as far as I can see, and I think that's all that matters.

Coming from someone I do not personally know, that really means a lot and is really nice. Shows a lot about your honset and sincere character.

Um... I just want to throw in my support for O'nus. I don't think I'd be terribly interested in this lecture/discussion, but I wanted to say that he is one of the smartest people on this site. When I first started out here, I learned a lot of scientific information that he was willing to take the time to research.

I'm glad you're back, man... even if you've been back for a little while now.

      This is Scwigglie...

And for the love of god I'm not saying anything bad about him man, I was just pointing out that a different writing style would make a wider range of audiences interested.

Yeah, I see what you mean. This is supposed to be a community and, unfortunately, I am more used to publications and "professional" bureaucratic dictum.

I promise to make the next declared discussion a much more personal side of O'nus,

I keep forgetting that you are Scwigglie. You're pretty close to my age, by the way...

O'nus, your idea is in fact excellent in my point of view. The thing is that kids in here dont realize their lackness of knowledge. Some of them have a first hand experience with things. And many others from other sources.

The fact is, they will just ignore and insultyou in many directions, so that you look likea fool infront of their faces. Ignore useless comments, they are all based on lack of knowledge.

Our world is beyond comprehention, thus beyond any limits. Many people suffer due to the non intellectual thinking. Thus blocking their pattern for evolution.
They live a life given by those upfront, who think and take descitions for them.

They dont comprehend what sharing knowledge is, nor do they comprehend what intelligence is. As for my self, i wouldnt bother attending your lessons, as long as i percieve something.

Logic is all about intellectuality. A person who is able to take descitions for him self, without regreting them. Thus, drawing his future in front of his eyes, so that he could percue it. But as you can see, there are some individuals who might agree with me.

Its a choice, why not use it when its free? why not absorb somethingnew? why bother shutting a person off, who is percuing on helping individuals who need help? isnt that what education is all about? arnt our lifes based on knowledge? what if this person can offer us something we never knew before. Thus critiscing him for nothing?

And people who say he got it from wikipedia? who the heck are you to judge his sources? do u freaking ask your self from where your books come from? from what sources? gosh....

      Dont bother correcting my spelling...

Yep! Why did you leave DV for such a long time, by the way? Before you came back, I randomly got nostalgic for some of the things you used to post. I also remember seeing a picture of you sleeping with your mouth open? Good old days.

      lol - that's a rare pic, I guarantee.

I left because of overwhelming responsibilities in school. Later years get a little more profound in detail.. Fortunately, I have found time to be able to relax and enjoy the boards again.

lol I've never studied them and I'm really interested. I would love to get to a lecture/discussion in DV chat, but the only problem to me is my Brazilian timezone.

Hey there, long time no seeing you

I'm planning to go fully polyphasic after tests end, but it shall take a week or so. After that, combined with school vacation, time won't be a problem.

I'm going to have philosophy classes next year... Wonder if I'll learn those topics?

I'd be interested in this, but I feel like I already have a fairly good grasp on the basic fallacies. Obviously more advanced lectures are not in high demand, though

I'd be happy to sit in anyways.

      Hello all,

EDIT: Due to school issues, I must change this discussion to December 2nd at 3pm.

I will be conducting a discussion on logical fallacies on November 30th on DV Chat at 8pm est. I will give time zone differences in one moment.

      What is the discussion about?
      - Fundamental logical fallacies
      - This is usually covered in senior high school courses. If possible, I would like to eventually show the logical symbolism that high school courses do not teach.

      Why DV Chat:
      - It is a part of dream views and everyone on dream views can access it (unlike IRC [ie. I do not use/want IRC]).

      EDIT: Times have been adjusted.
      Time Zones:
      North American EST: 3 pm
      North American CEN: 2 pm
      North American WST: 1 pm
North American West Coast: 12 pm
      London: 8 pm
      Paris: 9 pm

(If someone can do a better job translating the time zones.. please go ahead, lol.)

      What do you think..?

      I would say yes;
biopsychology - how our biology effects our psychology
biopsychiatry - utilising the above for therapeutic usage.

However, I would just normally call it neuropharmacology.
