hey vex I understand the prank it is funny on one hand on the other its not, it had some of us worried but thats beside the point.

What gets to me is that some of the posts in here have been horrible, a complete lack of respect and yet they complain when people get pissed, its silly. That is all im saying like.

In my naivite I believed the hacker/bot rumours and ignored all mods' comments from then on so the whole thing was completely lost on me.

Have to say, tho, finding the heat generated by all this far more interesting than the prank ever was

My point is that if such is the logic, then you should have a go at almost every person in this thread. I should have substituted the word "mods" for "staff". The point in any discourse is to see the other's point of view whether or not you agree with it, otherwise the discourse is a complete waste of your time.

oh I do see their point its like I said in my earlier posts, had I been in their position I would have laughed to, even though I spent all night backing up my DJ that probably adds to the joke

I also said that sarcastic and bitchy replies make people angry, now if those responsible had taken peoples concerns seriously and not made insulting remarks at them things would not have gotten so heated. Its that simple.

I agree with you Mark...the prank itself was one thing, but the lack of understanding and the sarcastically toned innapropriate responses people got when they voiced concerns I think were what deepened these negative feelings.

Just take a simple joke, we don't want staff who act like bots and do nothing else that is not to ban or warn people, I know staff like these on other forums, they are horrible.

Let me try to explain this better. It's like...tricking someone into making them think you forget their birthday, then at the end of the day taking them to a surprise party you had organized for them.

We all jumped out and yelled "surprise!" (hoping you'd be happy and just appreciate the trouble we went to, to keep you busy all day while we were secretly planning your party) and instead of some of you laughing along with everyone else, some of you decided to be linger over the fact that you thought we had forgotten your birthday. When...in fact...we never did. But you're just upset that we made you THINK we did. So really....it's just something that you sorta need to deal with and figure out why you are so upset over nothing when it was all in good fun.

and your right we are coming from 2 different points of view, I do understand what you are say and of course with the examples your use your know you are right.
