First game back - Made it in the paper.

May not mean much to some people, but I just started playing football again following about 2 months out due to injury. And anyway, played at the weekend, and our game was reported on in the local paper, albeit only a very small section lol

      (third paragraph from bottom)

Hey Adam.. couldn't get that link to load properly..

..but congrats on your comeback. What position do you play? I used to play for Storrington FC (in my much younger years) in the Sussex County League..

BTW You're not a Seagulls supporter, are you?

Edit: Got it to load okay. Which team do you play for?

I play for Legal & General in the Brighton League - not county. I play Centre Forward too, what about yourself?

I am not a Seaguls supporter - I am not from Brighton originally, I support ManU, although I tried to support Chelsea when I was a kid as my friend supported them, but my Dad wouldn't allow it

I started off as a left-winger, and graduated to central goalhanger.. whoops! I mean central striker.. I played for various other teams until I was 44.. after which, persistent injuries got me fed up, and I packed it in. I still really miss it..

Thank heavens for that! From that you might guess that I'm a Palace supporter..

Heh. Not another non-Manc red? Where do they all come from?

Only kidding. They are a really good team, and I'm dead jealous.

Congratulations on your return. What injury did you have? Your team sounds pretty strong... top of the division and four goal wins

      Good luck next week
Maybe, just for a second, you'll be awestruck.
      ...do you feel it to?

Yeah I have played for Lewes, Saltdean and then onto the Brighton leagues. Have played in goal, on the wing (both laft and right) and up top.

My injury was a little lame lol - I had an ingrown toenail, which meant I couldn't even fit my boot's on lol - It hurt just to walk on as the nail was growing into the nerves of the toe - not a nice thing to have! We do have a strong team, we have got to two cup finals this season too, we lost one 5-2 but have the next one on the 2nd April.

That's awesome Adam. I played soccer for years (left wing/center striker)...but ended up having to give it up for volleyball because they are the same season. And our volleyball team was pretty much #1 in the nation and won state 7 years in a row. I was captain my senior year even though I was the shortest one on the team. =) I had my name in the paper all the time and was loving it hehe. I also got my name in the paper for track & field.

Ah that's cool Nina! I have been in the paper before, but not played for a while now - so was good to get back into it. Although our season is coming to a close now so getting fit again at the wrong point lol.

Still, already looking forward to next season

      Good old Argus...

Sussex hasn't much in the way of national-class sport, has it? Except cricket... and stoolball (a game which only this county plays... guess which county invented it?).

Anyway, Brighton BBOB? Whatever that stands for, you kicked their arse!

Nice job, always cool to see DreamViews members get a little fame.

I love getting my name in the paper for high school tennis but our local newpaper sucks so when they quote me for making it to the final day of districts or winning they always write it as the slang way I say it and mess it up so I sound like a moron lol.
