ALF (he's around his 50s) was born on planet Melmac (Melmac was located six parsecs past the Hydra-Centaurus Supercluster), which was very much like Earth but it had two moons, it was oddly shaped and made of Melmac, Melmac had green skies and blue grass, and it orbited a purple sun. One night when ALF was in his Orbit Guard patrol ship, the planet Melmac exploded from a Nuclear War that broke out. After following an amateur radio signal to Earth and crash-landing into the garage of the Tanners, he begins his new life with the middle class family consisting of the social worker Willie, his wife Kate, their teenage daughter Lynn, younger son Brian, and the cat Lucky. Not long after crash landing ALF tried to convince the president of U.S.A. at the time to stop the nuclear program as he is scared that Earth might share Melmac's fate. Take in mind that he tried to do this while he was just a regular alien, no one with political power. He is good with people as he tried to help Brian (the son of the Tanners) to gain confidence during a school show, because he was too afraid to perform. In another occasion, he helped a girl named Dorothy to deal with Sparky's death and move on, and accept Whizzer's friendship. And he also helped a girl named Rachel Ochmonek with a depression she suffered, because she became the laughing stock in a TV program. To make this short and sweet, ALF not only is an alien life form (with potentially very high intelligence), but he also has experience. He was in Melmac's military, or something close to it. He's also from another planet and knows of advanced technology which he can help with the U.S. to better understand other galaxies, not to mention possibly reach them (heck, everyone can have their own planet besides a piece of land like Shaelyn promises!). He's good with defensive/foreign policies (he'll even be able to help us branch out to other planets). He wants to end all Nuclear Weapons programs and achieve world peace. Since he knows nothing of Earthly Gods he'll see no reason in keeping same-sex marriages amongst other things that are probably illegal due to religions illegal. He'll also probably fight to make drugs legal. He'll be a person's president, not a government's president. So from all of this, I find confidence in saying that ALF would be a wiser, more intelligent choice, compared to Shaelyn.

He's basically going to obtain world peace, bring the U.S. technology to disgustingly new heights (he is an outer intelligence), lift the ban on same-sex marriage, and possibly drugs. Not to mention since he's so smart he'll be able to get other's of his intelligence level into our schools to work. Basically with his advanced intelligence, he's going to make the world better than ever imaginable. By the way, you can't be the VP, he's already picked the VP, I just haven't named who it is yet.

THIS JUST IN: ALF has announced his VP will be Ratchet from Transformers. Ratchet was the team's medical officer. His intelligence excels beyond any humans, possibly even ALF's since he's capable of learning things almost instantly. Ratchet will also be able to help in world peace and better our understanding of the universe. He's also a firm believer in obtaining world peace. ALF and Ratchet '08 Vote for change and world peace.
