      Your '09 holiday's wish list

I'm curious what everyone is wanting this holidays, the main on my list are:

      CoD5
      Futurama season 3
New tennis racket (note that tennis rackets + fire pits don't mix, long story)
      some psp odds and ends
      some new sunglasses

What are you all wanting/going for this holiday season.

Edit: Crap I need to pay more attention the thread title before i post, really should have edited that.

I read the title and though it was holiday plans for next year, like going away on vacation as you call it

I don't want anything this year, never really expect anything either. Although I bought myself a nice snowboarding holiday from boxing day

Because I come from a large family I donate my Christmas money to the younger ones in the family so they can have what they want for Christmas, because it is more about them really. I'm just happy bein with friends and family

Nothing - but that never seems to fly with my parents for some reason despite the money it'd save them.

Well, actually I want things, but money can't buy them.

That's so sweet. I'm the same way. Once I hit a certain age, I always focused the Holidays on the younger kiddos in my family. I also came from a large family.

I don't expect anything, now, because I'm old, and don't need anything, lol. I love giving, though, and love making the younger crowd smile.

I wish you were my kid, lol. It sure beats the "I want this, and this and this and this and this..." A thousand dollars later, I sit in my closet crying.

I was confused, too. I thought this was a "where will we be one year from now" type question.

For example, next Christmas, I want a hydrogen car and an iphone with decent battery life.

I don't know how serious you're being... but maybe don't indulge your children's every whim?

I have four children and a husband. It comes close to two hundred dollars each, and that's not their every whim. That not only includes their latest thrill, but also winter clothes, and school uniforms. Maybe throw in the sweater and socks they don't want. If I were to give them some legos (which aren't that cheap) and a ninja turle/barbie, they'd be content. But I don't. I can afford to give them a little more, plus give others who are less fortunate.

They are plenty happy with what they get. Every Christmas it's "This is the best Christmas ever..." They are grateful. My husband and I save up all year for them, and not only them, but for other "angels" that don't get Christmas. Each of my kids have their own special "angel" who they go and get a special gift for.

I wish I could indulge on my childrens' every whim. But I know what they need, and I know how much is too much. I invite you to come visit us, one day, so you can see how spoiled they aren't.

Yeah, I thought you meant 2009, as well. Gave me more time to save up money. You know, I'm all about saving.

The only thing that comes to mind is a new acoustic guitar. The one I have now is my dad's oldie so I can't take it to college.

      I hope you don't think I was attacking you, as I wasn't.
You had said 2000 dollars and I assumed you were talking about one child. Apologies for making assumptions.

My family(5 kids) is similar, we would get clothing and toiletries for Christmas. We'd make each other presents instead of buying.
I hated it for the first 12-13 years of my life, cause I wasn't getting anything I really wanted... but I've since come to appreciate the tradition and thought put into the gifts.
We do Operation Christmas Child every year as well, which I've always enjoyed, I like the feeling of being able to bless someone who's even less fortunate than we were, even if I wish it wasn't a religiously motivated project.

And I might do that... I got friends in San Antonio. Maybe I'll swing by Dallas on my way home next time I visit them
