      Then, that's okay.
Men have always been the dominant sex because we are stronger emotionally and physically. This can be either a virtue when it is used wisely, or a vice when it is abused. In an ordered society, men will use their dominant position to protect women. It is the responsibility that comes along with being put in the dominant position. It is the same as in the army - the officer has been put in a position of power over his soldiers. As a result, his responsibility is to ensure the safety of his soldiers, and put their welfare above his own at all times. Likewise, when a man opens a door for a woman, he is saying "I am stronger than you, but I will use my power to serve you." That is the historical/traditional basis for why men open doors for women, and why women don't open doors for men. It is the same reason why women and children were traditionally evacuated from a sinking vessel first - the strong protect the vulnerable.

I acknowledge of course that feminism refuses to admit the reality that men are stronger than women, and that's the self-defeating aspect of it. If men offer to put women first, feminism discourages women from accepting the offer, calling it patronising. So men have become less inclined to put women first, yet (try as feminists might to change the natural order) men remain in the stronger position. And then feminists wonder why so many men end up becoming abusive bastards.

FIRST of all, where is your proof that men are stronger emotionally? I never thought I'd hear something like that in this day and age.

Second, show me a feminist who doesn't acknowledge that men, on average, are physically stronger. Because I definitely haven't met one.

And finally, one crucial point is that physical strength does not matter in our current society (unless maybe you are living in a third world country, in which case it's understandable). How many times in your life will you need to rescue a damsel in distress using your bulging arm muscles?

      Really??

The girls I've been with have all been just about as tall as my chin, so it just kinda comes naturally. I've never been told that it's actually something they liked, though, so I'm just going to use your adoration of it as affirmation. LOL.

actually mes, i have a lot of guy friends who are very in touch with their emotions. they'll even cry at movies and won't try to hide it. and they're straight as a board! times are changing. it's not so bad that some guys have stronger emotions than us. it just means that there are more sensitive guys in the world than there were years ago. and i for one welcome that!

I took "stronger emotionally" to mean the opposite, that they don't get upset/happy/sad/angry easily...

oh. i thought that was emotionally weak, actually. kind of like emotionally dead. but i sort of see how how you would have translated that. i see strong emotions and emotion control as two different things.

...soo anyway... The girls that post this shit on facebook, myspace, etc. are the girls that are sitting at home alone wishing they had the perfect man but without any male interest in them whatsoever. Anyone who compiles a list of qualities for their desired mate is bound to come up wanting each and every time.

I opened a door for a girl I like yesterday. It amazed me how satisfying it felt when she thanked me even though opening a door is such an everyday thing.

I pulled a chair out for a girl once. She wasn't too happy when she fell on her ass.

Also, neat random fact - I still have a visible piece of clicky pencil stuff in my arm from when a girl snap-stabbed me there 6-7 years ago.

completely agreed, but at the same time, i kinda feel like embarrassed, and ackward when my guy opens doors for me.
i am weird i guess, but i don't like it when guys pay and open doors and pull out chairs... i just feel like hey we are in a different like world. yeah it's nice to have someone open the door and pay for lunch and dinner, but girls should participate in those areas as well.
      anyways....

There seem to be a few critical items missing from this list. I guess I won't mention them since this is a wholesome, family site.

Are you saying you need to know how to please a woman sexually to have a fruitful relationship?!

I'm just suggesting that if you rely on that list to satisfy the woman in your life, she won't be in your life for long. I mean, come on, this is the '90s.
