Am I missing something here? The officer is trying to protect people like you and your family from being attacked by the dog like the little girl was but you have no sympathy for the officer? I really don't understand this.

I don't believe she was a COP I think she was an animal control officer and even if she was the strongest person in the world i think it would have maybe been quite hard to fight the dog off. Just imagine the sharp teeth digging into your skin, How arer you going to move around and fight the dog off if every time you do happen to move it either sinks the dogs teeth in or rips pieces of your skin off. I have great symphony for the officer as she was attempting to stop other people from being attacked and she was attacked by the dog.

Edit: I don't see any evidence though that she specifically made the dog attack people. That part may have been made up to make the story juicier.

Being in an engagement with a vicious animal is much different than being in a fight with a person whom a cop is trained to deal with. In this case, while an Animal Control Officer is trained to deal with wild and violent animals, things aren't as easy as they seem. You're going to get hurt, and any animal control officer dealing with an animal that has been trained and ordered to attack them, is going to get hurt even moreso.

Try using your heads a little.

I used to love the show 'Who wants to be a super hero' (I think it was), on Sci-fi. At one point it showed what a person goes through when under attack by a dog and the "heros" were in full gear.
It's not nearly as easy as you would think it would be!!

A dog is charging at you. What do you do?

a) Put your arm out in defense

b) Turn your back

c) Punt the little fucker over the fence

Dog's aren't hard to handle. Kick the thing, boot it as hard as you can, grab something to smack it. I don't give a dead moose's last shit about animal cruelty, it's either me getting my arm bitten off or the dog getting it's nose kicked inside out.

Simple choice.

A kick to the face may be enough to dissuade most dogs from attacking you, but I have a feeling that for a pitt bull or rottweiler it'd only make them more angry.

You're over simplifying the situation. Dub is right. A single kick or punch isn't going to do that much except piss the animal off more.

And what is this crap about Animal Cruelty? Who ever said anything about Animal Cruelty being an issue? Who ever spoke out in this thread about not defending yourself against the animal?

I don't get it, what is it with people these days speaking completely away from the issue, or arguing a non-issue?

Your feeling was wrong. I dont even want to get into what i've done to dogs that have attacked me. way bigger dogs thatn this little pit. here in the south, that pit would get tore up real fast.

One thing Ive realized is dogs are pretty damn persistent, If you take a dogs bone and sorta tease it with it, Does it not keep trying to get it?

The guy talking says the lady "trained" the dog to do that, I guess you could say its like potty training a little kid, If you train your kid to use the bathroom, Thats what their gonna do, right? (well most of the time lol)

I hope the dog wasn't destroyed simply for being obediant/loyal to it's crazy-a$$ owner and for doing as it was commanded to do.
