What Zhou is offering is an orderly way out of this quandary:

A super-sovereign reserve currency not only eliminates the inherent risks of credit-based sovereign currency, but also makes it possible to manage global liquidity. A super-sovereign reserve currency managed by a global institution could be used to both create and control the global liquidity. And when a country's currency is no longer used as the yardstick for global trade and as the benchmark for other currencies, the exchange rate policy of the country would be far more effective in adjusting economic imbalances. This will significantly reduce the risks of a future crisis and enhance crisis management capability.

I like the idea, beats having 1000 other currencies.

I don't mind either just as long as it's not an electronic only currency.

I can also see a number of well known conspiracy theorists saying "I told you so! buy my new book and come to my lecture for $500!"

WARNING! Conspiracy theories approaching...

The idea sounds great on paper, yet it would be too hard to get each nation to give up the value of their currency and move to one. I think each nation should focus only on strengthening the position of their currency, and the US definately should not buy into this scheme. Would there be a World Bank? World Central Bank? We have too many criminal central banks to begin with. How would we decide what amount each nation's currency be worth? And the Fed should not even exist.

Shred, he was not saying anything against you. Either what you just said was a joke, or you are insanely easily offended. He was just saying, conspiracy theorists will latch on to this. There was no reason to be offended.
