Orior, I don't think so. The man is an only child, and the father mentioned is the man's father. He refers back to himself. Once PR0G responds again, we'll know.

This does not rhyme, but here you go:

Three businessmen stay at a hotel, where the rate is 30 dollars.
Each man pitches in 10 for the room.
After going up to the room, the cashier realizes that the rate is actually 25
due to a sale that day. He hands the bellhop 5 dollars
to split between the men. The bell hop takes 2 to be able to split it evenly.
This means each businessman paid 9 dollars.
9 times 3 is 27, and the bellhop has 2.
27 plus 2 equals 29.

The 30th dollar is in the register. 25 is not divisible by 3, therefore 2 of the men paid eight and one paid nine. (8x3=24, +1 = 25 which was from the man who paid 9. Therefore One man paid 1 dollar more than the other 2 so it ends up being even when the bellhop takes 2, making $30 $28 which is not divisible by 3 and therefore one man paid an extra dollar.) The wording is confusing but the answer is straight forward.
