Vitamin B6 really works, and damn well!

As a drug user who tries to practice harm reduction by minimising my doses, avoiding redoses, avoiding using drugs frequently, and making sure I'm stocked up on vitamins and nutrients prior to, during and after my highs, I was often taking various vitamins especially after taking MDMA (ecstasy) during the week after to help replenish my monoamines (serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine).

After my last experience I was in particular taking 2-3x the RDA of a combined Magnesium & B6 pill to help combat residual muscle tension and improve the synthesis of serotonin.

I noticed I started to have crazy vivid dreams and assumed this was to do with the MDMA use, as many other users have reported these crazy dreams following MDMA use - but then I realised it only started after I started taking B6 (I had previously taken Magnesium but without the B6).

I began to question other users who experienced these vivid dreams about if they took any supplements after their MDMA use. Almost all of them included B6 in the list.

That was it, my curiosity peaked, I decided to begin an experiment. The night before last I took 6x the recommended daily amount of B6 (B6 is tolerated well at doses way above the recommended daily amount, so this is not dangerous - NOTE: Very important. The RDA here in Poland is just 1.4mg, in America the upper tolerable limit is listed as 100mg - don't go taking 500mg of B6 in a day, as at this level it can cause nerve damage!! 8.4mg was enough to get these effects!).

The first night I slept deeply and had many vivid dreams which I was able to recall the next day, but it wasn't enough to call anything beyond coincidence. I was pretty sure it was the B6 though, and I wanted to see how long a single dose of B6 lasted, so I avoided taking more yesterday.

Last night, I had about 20-25 dreams that I can recall, 6+ of which were lucid. There were a lot of nightmares so if you're the type to be easily scared and not handle nightmares very well I'd be careful, but 6 lucid dreams in one night is my lifetime record, my previous record being 2 - so I'm definitely going ahead with this experiment and seeing how it progresses.

Thought I'd let everyone know, I'm rather impressed. Normally I don't LD very often unless I practice WBTB or other techniques, but last night I didn't practice any techniques and achieved the most lucid dreams I've ever had in one night. I also perfected a new technique inside these dreams, of being able to fly through people and walls.

Anyone else had success with B6?

Ps I know there are existing topics about B6, but I wanted to post this as a sort of success story, lest it be lost among the other posts in some random thread.

      congratulations!!

Holy hell, 20-25 dreams with 6 lucids?! That is just awesome! Question: Was it easy to recall? And how did you go about recalling them?

And well, I haven't taken any b6 supplements purely. The only source of b6 i get are from apple juice and bananas which I take before bed. And it works well for me

Yeah it's a life time record for recalled dreams in one night too. One thing I forgot to mention is I also had alarms going off regularly through the night - because I was meant to be taking a 1-2 hour nap, but then got more and more sleepy each time I woke up and set it off further back. I've had the increase in vividness and lucid dreams from B6 before, with the record I believe being 9 vivid long detailed dreams that I remembered, and 2 lucid ones on top of that, for 11 total - so I think the alarms played their part too, I mean, in a way it was WBTB + B6 combined.

Now that it's halfway through the day I can only remember 7 or 8 of the dreams, since I've not really actively been practising dreaming lately and haven't been keeping my dream journal (though I plan to get back into it starting tonight!) - I remember my recall of the dreams was so clear though that actually what triggered most of my lucid dreams was the memories of the dreams prior to it!

For example I had several episodes of sleep paralysis where I woke up in my room, set the next alarm (sneaky dreams, trying to trick me!), opened up my laptop, played around a bit then went back to sleep. Next time I found myself in my room I attempted to float around the room without using my legs and to my pleasant surprise it worked. Then the memory of this lucid dream triggered me doing a reality check in a room full of people, discovering that too was a dream, and so on..

I've been out of practice though and sadly I'd forgotten to use techniques like rubbing my hands together and touching objects to maintain clarity in the dreams, so all of the dreams, both lucid and not, were at most a few minutes in length. However I regard last night as one of the two most successful nights in my LDing career - the other being the time I managed to maintain a lucid dream for around an entire 30 minutes, worked a computer in my dream, and even managed to mind-control a DC.

I think one of the things I'm excited about with this is the dosage I took, just 8.4mg. I've seen lots of people trying this and they're taking 100-200mg+ doses, which scientists reckon could lead to peripheral neuropathy and really isn't that safe. Hopefully this'll make people try lower safe doses instead.

Ahh I see. That's good then! This can surely serve as an example to those who are taking B6, especially if they are taking other things as well. I agree with what you said about the alarms serving as a WBTB. I've done that so many times! I refer to those as "snooze lucids" because every time I hit snooze, it gives me a better chance to be lucid because of the recently gained awareness.

Thanks for sharing your experience! :3

I'm in Poland. The brand I'm taking is some generic brand, and each pill contains: 1.4mg of B6 - as such, 6 pills = 8.4mg.

I tried my experiment again recently (I don't want to go ahead and do it every night since I'm not a fan of constant supplementation with anything over the RDA) and had 3 LDs that night, dream count was significantly lower and I recalled about 10-11 dreams - but that's still a huge amount, so I'm quite happy

The amount of dreams you recall with this supplement is impressive to say the least. It has encouraged me to eat an apple, although I just looked it up and apples only have about .1mg of B6

@OP: I love the fact that you brought up the daily recommended doses. Even the standard in the US is around 2mg, but I'm not sure why they would even include a tolerable amount. A lot of people are taking too much of the stuff way too often, and that's going to put the kidneys through some stress.

You can get more of it from vitamin enriched cereals, chick peas and bananas.

      A few questions~

      1) Should I take the B6 before bed, or will any time of day do?
      2) How much do bananas contain?
      3) Which cereals are best for the B6

I just looked up a list of foods that contain B6 and found a lot of things I eat on that list. An average size banana contains .5 mg and a can of tuna in water contains .35 mg. I eat a banana about every day and have tuna a lot for lunch just because it's simple. I think I probably get 2 mg or more throughout the day just from food. That might explain while I've always had naturally occurring lucid dreams, even before I knew what it was.
