Has anyone had success using the Singularity Experience lucid dreaming app for iphone?

      Hey all,

I'm new to lucid dreaming--so new I haven't really had any LDs worth counting yet--so I'm trying various aids to get me started. I've gone to bed the past several nights running Alexander Stone's Singularity Experience lucid dreaming app on my wrist, but without success. In other words, the reminders never go off. Alex would like me to check my data to check to see if they did go off, but I haven't done that just because I wouldn't believe they went off even if it said they did. I've set loud and long reminders, so there's no way I'm sleeping through them.

I'm using an iphone 4 running OS 6 with almost 12 G free space on it, so the problem isn't with my phone.

The app's interface is way too unnecessarily complicated. I appreciate all of the features he offers, and I'm willing to put time into learning how to use them, but too many of the bells and whistles on this thing are not only confusing but evidently also redundant and so totally unhelpful. That said, I don't think the problem is that I don't know how to use the app either. I've read all of his instructions and watched all of his tutorial videos several times, and I've played around with it for over a week. I think I understand how to use it.

So I think it just doesn't work. I'm using the latest version. I guess my question in general is this: for those of you who have used it, what has your experience with it been like? Is anyone using it successfully? (I'm talking about using the custom mode, by the way, not the beginner's mode.) If so, could you give me your best guess at what the problem might be?

      I'd appreciate any input!

It is quite complicated, I definately had to study the tutorials on youtube. The creator of this app is a member here. The thread started by them on this app is below. I would send them a private message.

Ditto, I also had troubles and had to watch the tutorials, the app is slightly complex and it's easy to misuse it if you don't know exactly how to access what you want, especially when it comes to the timers.

So do you use it regularly? Does it help?

      Thanks for the replies.

I've watched all the tutorials and read all the instructions several times, and I read the whole thread that's on here between the developer and some other dreamviews members; so like I said, I don't think I was doing something wrong. Anyway, I deleted it and reinstalled it, and it seems to be working now. But I wouldn't say it's helping with dream recall or re-entry yet. It's mostly just keeping me up a lot!

Part of the reason it's keeping me up is just that I'm sleepless with anticipation. I also find that it limits my movement uncomfortably to sleep with it on strapped to my wrist like this. I suppose I'll get over those things. It also annoys my girlfriend; she's jealous of it or something--or maybe just thinks I'm a geek. But of course it also wakes me repeatedly once I do nod off. So I wonder, if I wake myself up repeatedly like this, will I ever get to sleep that's deep enough to really dream? Are there any regular users of the app out there who have a glowing testimony to offer?
