I think I will stick with apple juice and B-6 supplements.

OK, just before bed i drank 250mil of beet juice which was very tasty and sweet, i also took one pill of B complex, but results was the same as B complex alone which was never any significant for me. Than i tried it again, 2 days after and nothing unusual happened and also 3th time was the same, so i would say that beet juice is a NO GO.

Hi Shaman1982 I'm old and I've been researching beetroot juice. It's a known improver of blood pressure and brain performance but it's cheaper overall to get concentrated beetroot tablets (I've sent off for some) Natures Aid beetroot extract on Ebay cost me £7.99 for 90x700mg tablets (inc UK postage) I would expect it to take a while for using them to show any marked improvment (or otherwise) and I'll let you know how it turns out Regards

      Hey LukeSid!
Any results on the beetroot? I'd think that fresh would be better than tablets, but I'm a "favors whole foods vs. pills" kind of guy.

Hi FryingMan...hows it hanging? I'm not sure. Because of how I am (all over the place...I even have a theory about that...which I'm going to put in my dream journal) I usually have so many irons in the fire that I can't be certain which irons (if any) are branding the right cattle. You're right-on about fresh v pills (or even juice) and, as I've probably eaten the equivalent of 100+ kg of beetroot since I started, I should, by rights, be walking around Mars as we speak...and I'm firmly rooted on Earth...so back to the drawing-board I think. There's no real "substitute" for hard graft.

LOL @ walking on Mars .
One step forwards, two steps back, check my DILD workbook. Bad night last night. Ah well, more lessons learned (don't eat too close to bed, keep a regular schedule, maybe sitting at computers even before bed isn't so bad after all).

Yep, hard work is definitely where it's at. My recall's been flagging this week, but then there's the awesome vivid dream I had in the middle of that, so...ya win some ya lose some.

In a way we're buddhist monks...but at least we don't have to drink yak milk. I've had a couple of barren nights (hey that was a pop group) But I just went for a nap and tried http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-...eam-ssild.html There was a revised version but looks like it's been removed.

I just did the visual, audio, then sensory cycles. I haven't normally felt anything, but this time I got, what I would call "technicolour migraine" It lingered, but didn't go anywhere but I'm just grateful for another new "crumb" off the great God Morpheus's table because I've never got that before...not even on WILDs...so I'll take that as a stumble foward.

As I've said on my dream journal this is "full moon" time. Some people say there's something in that...and I had my first LD at new moon (but not the second one) Who knows...it's worth keeping an eye on the phases just in case.

As I understand SSILD you're not actually looking for anything to happen during the cycles ala WILD. You're supposed to do it some number of times and then just go to sleep. That's the attraction: no WILD-style-consciousness-balancing on the edge of a sword. It's just supposed to boost your awareness of your "dream body" so that in a dream you just become lucid.

That's it. I just tried during my afternoon REM cycle for something to do...and I'm glad I did. The revised blog said do about 4 quick "sets" then do 6 or so longer sets (about 30 seconds for each sight, sound, sense) I'm watching a video now where a young guy runs through it.
