Ways to improve Vitamin B6's Effect

Hello, fellow DV Members and guests. So, as many of you know, Vitamin B6 has been a great "Lucid Aid" for a long time. However, it can give alot of people insomnia. I would like to know why. On the other hand, I know that it takes Tryptophan and converts it into Serotonin.
From an article on another website, i read that Tryptophan is found in such foods as cheddar cheese, chicken, salmon, lamb, egg, flour, white rice, and milk. I know that warm milk helps most people with their insomnia, but not everybody. I haven't tried warm milk recently, but i plan on it tonight . So what i leave you with, is a question, and some information.
My question was asked at the top. Why does vitamin B6 give people insomnia?
I hope i have helped, and given an interesting topic. Good luck to everybody.

      That's a good question.

Apart from serotonin (which obviously promotes wakefulness), it also plays a role in the synthesis of other neurotransmitters that have stimulatory effects, such as adrenaline and norepinephrine. It also aids the production of ATP, indirectly.

If it's giving you trouble, try readjusting the dosage.

Thank you. I guess i might have to try splitting a B6 pill in half. (I have 100mg.)

At what time do you usually take your dosage? I could imagine taking B6 right before bed and producing seratonin in some aspects is going to keep you awake. Perhaps before dinner it would be better to take a bit, and then maybe a tiny bit more before bed? That just sounds like an ideal scenario to me but the effectiveness might wear off too soon if it's before dinner.

The stimulating effect of the seratonin release might be part of the reason it works as a lucid aid so well, so it might just be finding the balance of the right dosage and continuing to take it before bed (if that's what you do).

No, i usually would just take a full pill before bed. Major insomnia. and then when i would fall asleep, i wouldn't even recall anything the next morning. I take 100mg as i said earlier. i thing i am going to split one in half, and take one half after dinner, then a half after bed.
