Since an increase in serotonin creates vivid dreams, and better recall it would be of benefit to take some before bed. But you cannot simply eat serotonin because it does not cross the blood-brain barrier, But the amino acid tryptophan is metabolized within the body into serotonin, and vitamin b6 is a catalyst to the whole tryptophan to serotonin thing. So if you have a large tryptophan and B6 intake you would yield a higher level of serotonin. |

I was under the impression that you couldn't purchase tryptophan anymore? |

In another thread, taking tryptophan and B6 was discussed. The Question is "Will they metabolize in the gut?". From what I have read they do and the debate has shifted from being ineffective to is it unheathy. |

I have read about serotonin syndrome, and I dont think doing this once, for experimental purposes will harm you. Melatonin crosses the bloodbrain barriar, so that is not a problem. The trpytophan and b6 will metabolise into serotonin, but you woulnt get serotonin syndrome from once or twice. that would take a big LD. |

Hey, I take melatonin every single night because I have insomnia. Is it dangerous for me to start attempting lucid dreams? I have only had two lucid dreams before that only lasted 30 seconds because I was too excited but those two were really just from realizing I was dreaming however I had read about lucid dreaming before those two. |
