      Dmae

For those people having trouble recalling dreams, I would suggest trying DMAE, dimethylaminoethanol. It's always seemed to help with recalling dreams. I usually take 1-2 pills of 250 mg before sleep. I believe the supplement is also discussed in the video on youtube about dream supplements. DMAE is a precursor to acetylcholine. It boosts the amount of choline, which aids in the recall of dreams. I find it more helpful than straight up choline. I rarely find this supplement on this forum, so I just wanted to share my thoughts. GL and happy dreaming.

      Oddly,

I had a vivid dream last night. Not lucid - but very vivid - the alram woke me before it finished.

I was with an old boss of mine in an office environment I dont recognize. His assisatant was the wife of an old friend I havent seen in a decade - I was their best man - she was thiner and hotter than I remembered her. My old boss had another assisatnt - a dopy drugged/drunk teenager with short red hair that I have never seen in RL.

The dopy kid gave me a sheet of paper and said "this might help". The only word I can remember when I woke up was Dmae.

I have been pondering this word all morning - I thought it might be a corruption of the word "dream".

Until I saw this thread when I got into work - the name of the thread just lept off the screen........... spooky.

Might have to pick some up at the vitamine shop on the way home...............

I always seem to suffer with Dream recall during the working week. I think I get so tired that I just cant remember. Will try this out and let you know.

I definitely recommend it. It must be a sign for you. It's always helped my recall. I use to take it for 5 months, then stopped, I noticed a big difference.

OK - used it last night.

I did WBTB - but was very tired - had also been drinking all evening so didnt expect much. Took some melo, Theanine, DMAE before bed, and some galantamine, choline and Glutamine at WBTB.

Didnt go lucid, and when I first woke didnt remember any dreams at all. But then while lying in bed suddenly everything started flooding back. This is the first time this has happened - some nights I wake after a dream with full recall and can then remember fragments of earlier dreams also. Other nights I remember nothing or just shadowy fragments.

I managed to write about 6 pages in my dream journal - one very vivid dream at great length, a second dream in some detail and fragments of 3 others.

SO - so far so good.

I seem to have the same effect. I'll wake up, and keep still, and then everything rushes back in bits and pieces. It works really well. It's very unfortunate that people have a hard time remembering dreams. Obviously to us they are very important. Maybe a similar effect happens when we are born into this world, if you believe in reincarnation and such.

Is it safe to take 130mg of DMAE every day?

      Evil Doctor,

The DreamCharacter said "DMAE" would help. Not "some melo, Theanine, DMAE before bed, and some galantamine, choline and Glutamine"

Who knows those supplements combined might only be counter acting eachother's effects. And suppose this cocktail would have resulted in very vivid, coherent, well remembered, lucid dreams, then how would you be able to tell which of the supplements did the trick?

If you're researching supplements for lucid dreaming then it's better if you take them seperately.

I wouldn't trust wiki to give accurate information on this, but if you are having trouble moving around and having respiratory problems you should stop.

      Ska,

I have now been experimenting with supplements for over a year. My post about DMAE was actually made back in Jan this year when I was still trying out various combos.

I am 40 years old and an IT manager - so I have actually put a bit of science, maturity and process into both my research and experimentation with the various supplement options out there.I did not start out by randomly buying a huge array of pills and popping them like candy.

I have now found a blend of supplements that work perfectly for me and give me multiple LD's whenever I make an attempt. I posted a thread about this in the WILD forum called "my extreme WILD method".

I do use ALOT of supplements. And I know some people worry about side effects and long term issues, however I dont. I love LDing - and I am fine with my "blend". I think we are all aware of the risks of smoking, drinking, recreational drugs, junk food, STDs thru unprotected sex, driving, sports, and just about everything else that makes life fun - indeed many of these are way more dangerous to your health than an ammino acid blend a couple of times a week.
