Cool Hello everybody, and the story about my first LD

New guy here - Hello everybody!

I've been reading this forum for quite some time, and last night I finally got my first LD! So I decided it's time for me to register and become a part of this community and tell you people about my first experience.

So here goes... I went to bed pretty early yesterday since I was really tired and fell to sleep immediately.
I was dreaming some random things when I suddenly step into an helicopter together with my ex-girlfriend. The helicopter was shaking, about to start and it felt really unstable. I was terrified, didn't want to get in the air in this piece of machine.

I was about to run away when I realized that this was just a dream and I couldn't die - BAM, instantly everything became totally vivid! I realized that I was LD'ing and got excited but kept my calm because I knew I would wake up otherwise. I took a few seconds to just stand and focus on my hands and got really excited since I still was in the LD.

So I was in my first LD and I managed to stay in it. Still focusing on my hands from time to time I started to look around to explore the area. I've had so many things that I wanted to try in my first LD but now I couldn't come to think about anything at all! I was inside a house and decided to go out. Then I remembered that I've read that walking through walls is a cool feeling, so I did that and it felt really wierd in my body. Can't really explain it, but it was cool!

This is the best part. Immediately when I've walked out through the wall I can feel the air, the wind and the weather, the sun light on my skin. It was so real and I was aroused, just standing there stunned and amazed.

Then it hit me that I hadn't tried to fly yet! I took a leap and stretched my arms wide and flew! Amazing feeling... After flying for a while I was so excited and just wanted to try more things but then...

... I woke up, grabbed some paper to write everything down but there was no blank papers anywhere. I wanted to write it down fast but I coudn't find anywhere to write, and then I woke up again, for real this time!

This is the story of my first LD experience. The method is DILD (correct me if I'm wrong) and I also had the pleasure (?) to experience a false wakening.
Hopefully I'll have some more LD's soon. I have so much to experience and try, I can't wait! Sorry for the wall of text, but I had to tell the whole story.

That's inspiring, congrats! I'm still on my quest for my first LD but I go to bed every night thinking it could be the night.

How long have you been trying to get an LD and what was your method to finally do it?

But anyways I'm really happy for you. It's really a life changing experience, isn't it?
As children we believe anything is possible. As adults, we need to remember it.

Thanks! Yes it's really inspiring for me also. Your first LD will come soon enough, just keep trying, it's worth the effort!

I've known about LD for well over a year. I had an experience where I became lucid for a second or two and since then I've read alot about it and tried from time to time.
Been close to some WILD's but always gotten too scared in sleep paralysis to continue.

This time I became aware that I was dreaming, got lucid (and excited of course) but I kept my cool and remembered things I've read here. To focus on my hands and my surroundings and I managed to stay lucid.

Life changing hmm, well I guess you can call it that. It sure opens up a whole new world for me though.

      Good luck!
