      I did it!

My first lucid that lasted more than a few seconds It was still only a few minutes but hey it's something^^

I decided to take a really short nap because I didn't feel rested enough, but I had the intent of LD'ing while doing it. All of a sudden I open my eyes, and I'm in my bed in the same position I got in, but it's dark outside. So I plug my nose and find that I can breathe through it freely!
But that's where it went wrong a bit I remembered I had to root myself first, so I take a look at my hands, but for some reason my one eye is shut... I could pull it open with my fingers but the sight through it was all hazy. Anyway, I decide to continue, so I have a good look at my hand (which looked kinda normal), and, wanting to do even better, I start examining the first thing next to me, which happens to be a computer case next to my bed (which isn't there in real life). I can feel the metal, I can see it, but for some reason everything is kinda darkish...

When I went outside it was night and winter and pouring rain as hell, even though I tried convincing myself it was summer outside while I was leaving my room, so guess that didn't work so well... I jumped of the balcony (which seemed to take much longer than it would in real life) without hurting myself, and tried to stop the rain while crossing the road, but it just got worse
Then I must've closed my eyes for a second, which caused me to wake up immediately...

Any ideas on what I might improve, what caused my one eye to be shut, and why I couldn't stop the rain even though I convinced myself it was summer outside?

EDIT: the method I used can be found here: http://www.dreamviews.com/f12/method...cidity-107828/

EDIT 2: Some more info that I thought might be important/interesting: The transitioning from waking state to lucid was weird, as everything started to vibrate...It seemed to come out of my head, but it felt like my whole body was vibrating. Also, I think me being unable to really control it was not spending enough time grounding myself in the dream, because looking back at it, I think I didn't examine things long enough before I started walking around trying things.

      Are you dreaming?

      Goals: Get lucid [x] | Get in control [x] | Fly [ ] | Go to Bora Bora [ ]
      In that order!

Well the eye thing was probably completely random or maybe in real life you were sleeping face down on it and the rain well controlling the dream like that does tale practice just keep trying and concentrate even harder
We are only truly free in our dreams.
