What is the point of Dream Guide?

So, I have been LDing for awile, and have since found this forum. On this forum I've found a lot of interesting stuff, but the most interesting so far has to be this idea of a "dream guide". I keep hearing about it. So, it got me wondering, what exactly does a dream guide do? If its real, and I have my doubts of course, surely it must have some purpose. Can it help me lucid dream? Can it control my thaughts? What is it exactly? So to find this out I'd really like to hear some stories from experience. Tell me what your DG did for you, besides just his looks and what he said. Did he do anything that changed you for the better?

Your dream guide can help teach you things about dreams like control or teach you new powers. They can guide you and help you do your dream goals. They can help you with lucid dreaming and how to stabilize and stuff like that too. They are usualy pretty powerful and take the form of someone you respect or look up to.

People have different beliefs on what a dream guide is. Lots of people think they are manefestations of your subconsious or just DCs. Some people believe that thay are seperete entities. A dream guide is really just a anything in a dream that guides you.

I just met my dream guide a week or so ago although I didn't really learn much about her. I have been looking for her since I first started LDing. I asked a DC about were my dream guide was and he just laughed and told me that I had to become stronger before I could meet them. I still tried to find them and I used a mirror to try and teleport me to them. All I saw was a silhouette of a female before I destabilized and woke up. Also In my search I got a clue that I I was suppose to look for a tower but I didn't think anything of it. I stoped looking for my dream guide and trained my dream abilitys to become stronger like the DC said. A week ago in a lucid I met an attractive witch who was very powerful wore dark purple clothes and a witches hat though I couldn't remember details about what her face and stuff looked like. She seemed like she knew more that she let on and kept giving me this smirk. I asked her to be my dream guide and she accepted. She took me up a spiral stair case to the top of her tower and had to go somewere but said she would meet me later. I didn't realize till later that it was the same tower that I was looking for.

I have been trying to meet her again but keep failing at teleporting properly. Next time I meet her I will make sure to learn her name and how I can easily contact her in future dreams and take a good look at what she looks like.

One thing that amazes me about dream guides is their ability to hide symbolic meaning in what they do that you don't realize until after you wake up.

I think a lot of that has to do with the way dreams are formed and experienced more than anything else. A single thought, idea, or archetype will take on different forms for each individual. So it follows that in dreams, where everything arises from personal associations and schemata, nothing is as clear cut as it initially seems. Dream Guides are trying to get their message across an inherent translational barrier, which means it's all subject to our immediate interpretation.

Personally, I find this fact disheartening, as it reflects the truth that we can never know anything, and that all we experience irrevocably comes from ourselves.
