So last night I had my first lucid dream, as a result of trying to lucid dream for quite a while. But the past few days I have been extra diligent about doing the methods to get one, whatever. So heres my dream.
I was in NYC (I live there for school), but it was during the attacks of 9/11, so it was a nightmare and I was terrified. I wasn't at the attacks, but this seems to be a recurring theme in my dreams as I have dreamt about it before, specifically seeing one of the towers fall. So I saw one of the towers fall, but instead of falling in on itself, it toppled over, with not as much (if any) smoke. I found this strange and I think this is what made me realize that it was a dream, because after that happened, I said aloud "This is a dream, I am dreaming."
Pretty much all the fear that I had before dissipated, and I was elated to finally be lucid dreaming. The first thing I did was try flying, which I did. This was awesome, so I just flew around up and above everything. That's pretty much it. But it's weird to me how I realized that it was a dream because the tower felt weird. I would love to hear thoughts on a recurring theme such as this.
