The feeling when you wake up after you have your first lucid dream is exhilerating, like you've just been put on a drug and want more more more. |

after a month and a half of trying i finally had my first lucid dream. i went to bed at my normal time and woke up around five o'clock. after staying awake for a couple hours i went to bed with the sole intention of having a lucid dream on my mind. |

thanks for all the support everyone! so nice to finally find this forum as everyone else i tried talking to about it said i was on crack.. lol. think the only bad thing about how great it felt was that i was way too excited to fall back asleep to try for another one. and i've heard about this from the book exploring the world of lucid dreams by stephen laberge that if you're too focused on them and concentrate too hard they might be harder to have. what was awesome was that the first one happened a couple days after i started reducing my reality checks. so far it seems i can really only have them on weekends since i can do the sleep rescheduling trick but thats just fine for me for now. now i just have to really work on controlling them and staying lucid. |

Because I did not realize the full reality of what it means that it is a dream. (Like, I was like "okay this is a dream. Got that. Mooving on") Because it wasn't a good dream, it was just me standing in a gray mess that had no particular shape. Because it only lasted 10 seconds. Because the whole experience was just so confusing. |

oh damn that sounds pretty crazy though. and i know it differs from person to person but how many lucid dreams has it taken for your guys to start being able to control them and not wake up right away? in the book i read laberge said something like in the first year he lost lucidity in 11 of 87 dreams, second year 1 of 100+, and third year 1 of 200+. hopefully it only takes about five more or so. really exciting stuff though |
