      Very weird/short Lucid experience

Hi, I just joined this site so hi

Last nite, I lucid dreamed for the first time, it was very short though. I was in a basement and sitting on the floor and a woman that I work with was sitting in front of me really close to my face, then I dont know how I figured it out, but I realized I was dreaming, so I looked at her in the face and said "This is a dream" but it took me forever to actually say the word dream, I was trying to get it out of my throat but it came out as just mumbling.

Anyway, after I said it she just shook her head slowly then I felt like I was suffocating and woke up. Any similar experiences?

      Welcome!

That is an interesting experience, I have never felt like I was suffocating in a dream before. You have to remember that when your lucid you are in control of your dream, and you can do anything! If you start to feel like your suffocating just remember you don't even have to breath in a lucid Good luck!

When I first started lucid dreaming, I would have very similiar experiences. Like my subconscious would be fighting me back into being unaware I was dreaming. Every time I became lucid, I'd either wake up, something would come after me, the dream would start fading, I couldn't talk, etc.....Completely normal. Still happens from time to time. Keep dreaming, with time being lucid will feel more natural and your mind won't fight as hard if you're in the right mindset
