Whhhhooooooaaaaaaa. Yeah, I was mildly expecting a response but certainly not one which included a picture, links, and a YouTube video.
So this person who looks like a real person, it's most likely your subconscious creating it for you. You might be surprise how it can make someone you wouldn't expect it to manifest to you.
Most likely. I mean, there's no way anything in dreaming can be real... except in cases of shared dreaming. In which case, it's difficult to determine what is real and what isn't.
But the whole "it all doesn't exist," that's just a mentality you're willing to experiment with, and that's fine. People normally go with that mindset to prevent them from being too attached to dream plane so that they can still hold on to reality. That's what I believe.
Ha. That's exactly what I do when it all gets a lil bit too serious. I think it works out well this way... otherwise we'd all end up like WakingNomad XD Nice observation.
You make interesting points about how the subconscious gives us what we want in a form that's acceptable to us. So in the event... let's say I don't get what I want in dreaming... and I've wanted a sparring partner in fact... for ages now... at least a year. I haven't come across anyone for that. That and I've wanted an imaginary friend too damnit. Well ok, it doesn't have to be imaginary, a real one would be acceptable too. I've been left short on both counts. What's up with that? And don't tell me I don't really want those things, lol. Why does my subconscious fail here?
is that you ask and had a planned image of what the entity would look like beforehand, and you believe that your subconscious will match it.
Possibly. Interesting point. If energy works like this... couldn't it work if I imposed it on a real person too? I suppose that would require more energy though... but the real deal is always better than .... half real, right? And won't playing with subconscious creations be like playing The Sims? Great for the first 128 hours but then it wanes after you've clicked every single option available. I know they have free will but they won't know how to rewire the lawn mower with marshmellows. The creativity factor is predictable. Sorry. I know that wasn't what you were addressing, I'm just thinking out loud.
Jeez and speaking of Eva and blondes. After going to your DJ link you posted, I realized I had already read it (I read most DJs which are posted anyhow) and YOU'RE the reason I dreamt about Texas A&M. Pfft. I landed at the Bush Library and was like, "Wtf am I doing here?" Then after I read this initial posting.. that night, I had two dreams about a blonde woman. Gorgeous. She looked different from the picture you posted here though. But anyway. It's weird the sort of stuff which makes it through the mental barrier.
That means you would have to learn from one mindset, take it into consideration, and repeat the desire in a different mindset to see if the same results become apparent or different.
Trial and error hm. That takes time.
For you to believe that you might be a figment of imagination, and that we're ALL just figments and figments and figments and nothing but figments of imagination, go with it of you want! But you probably might lose sense of reality and become traumatized to the point where you think that pots and pans are the keys to flying at the speed of light, or something obscure and completely random.
Shush. Now you're just mocking me. Dissociation is different from pots and pans being keys to anything. Tomayto, tomahto... I know.
It's like using the scientific method to see if the same results will show up if you continue repeating that perspective.
Reliability and validity seem to be very difficult to measure when it comes to the subconscious. The subconscious seems to add too much bias don't you think? There is very little which is objective about the subconscious... how do you control a factor such as that?
But if you just read what I say (if you think it's worth your time....I mean you do come to the forum to learn something from someone's perspective right?) but you find yourself seeing people asking general questions and receiving general answers that were probably half-hearted in intention, making you think too much on something solid that wouldn't make someone annoyed at a question that was already responded.
To think or not to think, that is the question. But yes, that is why I come on here at least... to think. Well.. and theorize. And yeah, I did read it. All of it. ALL of it. Lol.
I'm going to stop. But don't be shy to ask anything else, I might repeat the same things over and over again because I have a schemata for interpreting your question. And the only thing I can do is hope that it's logical to you. My responses are just left there in the clouds for your own pickings. If you think all I said was wrong, then think that way. I won't feel discouraged or disappointed, I'm just happy giving you my belief.
Thanks and yes, I understand what you're saying. I'm not in a position to agree or disagree. You brought up several perspectives and evaluated them. Sort of like a meta-analysis of perspectives. You made an effort to remain unbiased but you did point out a few things which you found helpful. Overall it was informative. Some interesting thoughts there too which made me question the limits of a perspective or two.
Her eyes turned BIG and I thought she was going to wake me up to prove a point. You can read it below, but it's a bit disturbing....I have a pretty messed up mind. I think. :x (The lucid part is in dark red)
Yep, read that one before you posted this. Yes, it was disturbing the first read though, lol. It makes me wonder though, can't anyone and everyone be a dream guide? What are the requirements to be one? Just to have an opinion on something? Or be helpful in some way? I have a real living friend who often serves as my dream guide. But I also serve as hers. I'm not sure what it is that makes a DG a DG. Aren't they more like friends? Thinking out loud again...
You might think that if I'm still new to stabilizing my dreams and don't have that many lucids, why should you read what I'm going to say? Because I learned from many topics and made a collection of what I like and what I didn't like, but I accepted it because it helps me change things.
Noooooo that's not what I meant at all. When I asked how far you got I meant with my lengthy question list. I didn't mean with lucids or experience. I don't use lucids as a guideline as to how knowledgable a person is. We all have opinions and one opinion isn't more or less valid than someone elses. I actually meant that as a joke when I first asked it.
On a seperate note, that video looks like a lucid dream.
