      Cool My first lucid! :D

So i had a pretty naughty dream(which i will not get into), but whole point i was not aware i was dreaming at the point. Shortly after, i decide to get up, and go to the restroom. It was my house, so i knew where i was going. As soon as i go in, shut the door, the light switch doesn't work. But for some reason, i forgot that light switches is a way to know if your dreaming, so i guess when the light switch didn't work, i thought to myself "Huh? Whatever." So i took a piss, and then i washed my hands, but when i dried them, i automatically did a reality check (THANK YOU CONSISTENCY!) and i was able to breathe with my nose plugged. I wasn't sure, so i did it like 3 times. Then i was aware i was dreaming. I looked at my fingers, i had 1 extra finger on each hand. I pushed my finger through my palm, and it came out the other side. By doing all this, i had focused a bit and suppressed my excitement, so i didn't wake up this time (AWYEA.) and i thought to myself, hmm, what to do now? So i decided to open my bathroom door, but i was locked out. I thought to myself, no worries, i'll walk through the wall beside me. I tried, but i failed? So i had no time to think about why, so i decided to do the same but fly out of the restroom. I jumped, but i slowly floated back down. I remembered to "let go" and "believe" that it can be done, so i guess i super charged my next jump, and i launched myself out of my bathroom ceiling, into a green room now. This room was unfamiliar too me, so i thought it must be my subconscious mind creating this room. & This is where either i lost awareness again or where my lucid dream faded, and became a different dream, where i wasn't lucid. But my progress has been far better now, i was able to manage a lucid within a week of learning what it was, and manage to do reality checks in the lucid.. Anybody have any tips on how to make sure i don't lose awareness, because if i didn't lose awareness, i'm pretty sure i would have done what I've been wanting to do so bad...fly! Anyways, i just thought I'd post this, if you have anything to say about my dream or what went on, please do as it'll help me for my next lucid!

      Hey EDC,

congrats on the awesome lucid! You just need to keep reminding yourself your dreaming and stay aware. It sounds like you didn't stabilize the dream when you became lucid, and I really recommend that you do. You can read a guide on how to stabilize the dream here. Stabilizing will also help you stay lucid. Great job, keep it up!

Great job EDC and congratulations on your first lucid! Check the link Mancon gave you, that tutorial is really well done and should help you stabilize. Anyway, the more you practice the better and more frequent your LDs will become.
