First Lucid in a long time

So, I'm kind of an on-again off-again lucid dreamer. I get into it for a few weeks without success, take a break for a couple of months, then try again, but I usually am not able to put that much effort into it because I'm so busy with college. Anyway, I had a good one last night that gave me motivation. Without going into too many details, I basically really focused on lucid dreaming before I went to sleep, browsed Dreamviews, read up on dreaming, etc. and did a Wake Back to Bed, which was very successful! I got up and went to the bathroom, and when I went back to sleep I became lucid quickly, almost as if the atmosphere between dreaming and reality was weak. I even did a finger through palm reality check, which failed. But I think I pretty much knew something was up when the clock said 2 AM and it was light outside. So I knew and tested out my powers. I climbed a brick wall, cut down a tree branch telekinetically, destroyed a shed, rolled a giant tire, and made a new door appear on the side of a brick house. The only problem was when I approached the door I became afraid and confused, because when I opened it it was really dark inside and led down into the ground. I thought to myself "What if I'm sleepwalking? What if this door in front of me is real in waking life and I get trapped down there?", then I woke up. All in all, I'm really surprised at how good it was. It was very vivid and I got to test out my control for a while. I just wish it was longer.

      Congratulations on the lucid, Jeremy.

It sounds like a fun dream. How long did it last? A couple minutes? Anyway sounds like you had good control. Hope you get some more soon!

Thanks! I would say it was around 10 minutes of fun. Can't wait for my next one.

Good one Jeremy! Hope you continue this form.

Like you I have been on and off LD for a few months due to various reasons out of my control. However I have been reading up again and been on DV (mainly lurking) for the last week which has paid off.
This morning (7.50am) I had a lucid dream after a 10 min WBTB taken about an hour before. I wasn't really concentrating on having one, but I do recall a couple of (normal) dreams beforehand which seemed significant. The one especially as I was dreaming of doing a relaxation exercise in a chair - however I don't think it was an FA.
The LD I had was very high quality in comparison to the poorer very short, or lack of dream control type lucids I was used to getting.
I won't bore you with the whole dream scenario here. What I will say is that it involved a former girl/friend from years ago who appeared in my kitchen, & I sussed it was a dream straight away as I said it out loud. There was NO shifting or loss of control. I looked out of the window to look at the scenery which was more vivid. (Mainly blue sky / green fields.)
I tried to get her to look out and comment on the view to work out if she could see the same?
I went in my front room and I tried to stabalize the dream more by rubbing my hands. This was so funny because when I looked down when rubbing them you could see the fingers 'flickering', going back and forth, in a sort of blurry motion.
However just after I was rudely awoken by my alarm clock going off which really annoyed me!
My house, especially the kitchen is a very strong 'dreamsign' for me. Hopefully I may bump into this girl I once knew again, perhaps as a dreamguide?
On reflection, this experience has helped motivate me as I was buzzing with excitement afterwards & couldn't get back to sleep.
One thing it has taught me is to write down a clear goal, or a series of goals to do once lucid in the future.
