Lucid experience - First Step complete.

Took me about a month total. Its been 20 days since I joined the forums and I've been pretty aggressive about it, but lately stress over costs for repairs for a car I bought and lack of sleep have been killing my recall and mood. Regardless I've been pressing on and attempting numerous methods which have all basically come to naught directly, however I had a bit of success yesterday.

It started out like I was in some kind of video game. I met up with a girl in a final fantasy sort of world. I had selectable abilities that did specific things, and at some point we were talking about researching special moves. We were exploring this huge building, perhaps a mansion, and finding secrets about experiments conducted there, both on us and others as well. Some of the others seem to have gone a bit wrong in the head though from the messages they've left. At some point we engaged some kind of wierd technological boss monster, and I used an ability that seemed to fire bullets repeatedly for approximately a minute. The battle doesn't seem to end until it'd run its course and we actually get a bit annoyed with the duration. We meet others like us, though they're not all pleasant, and there is some conflict between us. Despite this we have similar goals so we set differences aside and continue to search. We stop by a picnic table and decide we want lunch so I go looking for food or desert or something for the group.
I end up in a mall with my best friend from high school, I search in various shops for food and as I write this I realize that I've dreamed of this place before. First we go to a donut shop with a lengthy line and at the end I can see some ornate pastries, like ones made into realistic replicas of boots, but nothing I want is here and I don't want to hold anyone up so I give up my place in line and leave the store. My friend seems to stay behind and disappears from the dream. I explore the mall a bit before deciding what I want isn't here.
Suddenly there is a commercial for a new wrestling thing. (Personally I hate wrestling, but live with a fan of it so it is on TV often enough.) The are wrestlers out in the crowd in the stadium shooting each other with darts and if someone in the crowd gets hit, they win a prize! (yay?!) and then I'm suddenly in the wrestling stadium, having snuck in to find the snack bar, but the layout is very odd. I have to go up these back stairs til I get to this weird old rundown movie theatre playing black and white movies with bad sound and there are ghostly images of people in the seats that seem to flicker as if they're part of the projection. I've entered from the back left (facing toward the screen and choose a seat near that entrance. There is a Columbia sportswear coat on the back of the chair immediately to my left. I sit for a second, but then get back up, heading behind all the seats and head down the ladder on the other side of the theatre that leads to the snack bar. Not a particularly accessible concession stand is it? When I look down though, there is a ticket checker waiting to check the tickets of people who enter like this. I back up and head into the theatre where the ghostly images have disappeared. I sit down in my seat and check the jacket because it looks like my jacket.
Suddenly these two old women are sitting on either side of me, watching the movie. Then we're no longer in the theatre, I'm driving down the road in my old Geo Metro. We're still in the movie theatre seats, and I'm still in the middle and the physics of this are impossible and that bothers me, but the car is still familiar. I start to feel the situation is odd. I search the columbia jacket again hoping it is mine after all, and hoping I can find a hearth-stone in it (years of playing WoW... I'm sorry). I ask the ladies how did we get here, and why are they here anyway? One of them says, "When security kicked you out they brought us all out together." I realized realized that was absurd and said as much and then I said, "This is a dream." Realizing this was true, I screamed, "THIS IS A DREAM." Everything became more real for a second then starts to fade away. I'm far too excited about this, and I'm still using fuzzy dream logic. I can't remember how I got in the car and since I'm driving in the dream I assumed I was somehow driving in reality. While I understood that whatever happened in the dream didn't matter, I somehow assumed that I was also really driving and that the dream could somehow affect that. All the excitement caused me to wake up.

I hope I don't have to wait another month for a Lucid and I certainly hope I don't freak out so much. Still its a step forward and I'm happy about that.

As you gain more experience, you will get less excited and hopefully won't wake up because of that. Check out some stabilization techniques in DV Wiki. Happy dreams
