      Was I lucid??

Long story short I only got 4 hours of sleep Wednesday and was drunk when
I fell asleep so I figured I would have a rem rebound when I went to sleep again. I waited all day and was confident I would finally have a lucid. I can't remember exactly how the dream went but it felt different. I only remember the last part of the dream, I was floating by a trampoline and starting floating away so I returned to ground and wanted to shoot a fireball outta my hand. The first attempt failed and it looked like I warped the work slightly where my failed fireball was pointed. Then a dc who I don't remember well said "you gotta believe you can" then I find myself in blackness and woke up a few mins after and looked at the clock and was only asleep 2 hours. Was this a lucid?

A lucid dream is when YOU know that you are dreaming while dreaming. I don't see any indications in this description that you were, although it looks like you were more aware and had a lot of control of the dream, so I would say that you were very close.

You can be as aware in a dream as you are in the physical reality right now, but it doesn't mean that you realize that everything is but a dream...

Are you dreaming now? Think about it.

If you knew you were dreaming, it was a lucid dream. Simple

What did the blackness mean? And why right when I woke up i couldn't recall much of it?

Not being able to recall a dream is 100% normal. I mean, we aren't able to remember more than 50% of what we dream all nights. So, no surprise there. The blackness means nothing. I mean...it means you were about to wake up. But...cheer up! A lot of people need a lot of time to get their first lucid dream. Keep trying and you'll get there.

Kind of sounds like it. Maybe you were only partly aware you were dreaming. Perhaps in being so confident that it would happen. It's up to you to know weather or not it was. But you had control so you are at least half way there.
