Question My first experience, is this LD?

      Hello everyone
I've read about LD long time ago, but only yesterday I decided to give it a try, so I read up some guides and went to bed with my dream journal ready on my night table.

I had about four dreams that night, I managed to record 3/4(I think I simply fell asleep after the third one, but it was something along the lines of me taking quick smoke in my flat, which I can't do normaly) and then when I was dreaming my fourth dream I think I went lucid.

The dream started in my flat and the main plot was happening nearby. First of all I managed to create huge black stain on my sheet by dropping cigarette ash and then I had confrontation with my father, because I was going out and I was so slow with everything. Now the main part, I was in a car with my friends and my ex and I was discussing our relationship with my ex (I guess that this relates to our breakup which was kinda confusing for me). Then we went out of the car and the was huge mess around - lots of empty soft drink cans, which one guy collected. Then I lit up a cigarette and somehow I realised that it is a dream, I tried to check my palms and I got really vivid set of psycho pictures (I really don't remember then, because it was one after another in fast succession), then the situation got stable, but I don't rememeber where I was and I recalled something from the guide on vivid dreaming I read that night: "Begginer's mistake is that they try to do something really superpower-ish like teleporting to moon and the excitement ends their dream". And obviously first thing I thought of trying was teleporting to moon and the dream ended. Also the part after I checked my palms was all in sepia.

After I woke up I was kinda scared and couldn't sleep for another 30 minutes.

TLDR: I think that I had my first LD and it was pretty scary.

Thanks for reading and the thing I'm looking for is - was this lucid dreaming or what the hell did I experience, It was something that never happened to me. Also the fact that I remembered almost all of the dreams I had is new for me. It is the first time in about 2months that I actually know I dreamed.

      Nazdar, Welcome to Dreamviews!

It sounds like a lucid to me. Congrats!

The only requirement for a dream to be lucid is that you know you are dreaming. And you knew that, so it was a lucid

It's true that it may be hard to do some advanced stuff on the first try, but there are people who can. Maybe you are one of them. I would advise not to limit yourself about what you can and can't do. The thing is, if you read that you can't do something, then it will be hard for you to do it, because you believe you can't. And in dreams, you thoughts rule. You can controll pretty much anything, but only if you KNOW that you can. On the other hand, it may take some practice. Happy dreams
