first lucid dream ever!!! sort of?

What's up everyone, so last night, without any attempt to do so, I had my first lucid experience! unfortunately, it was incredibly short and my dream actually ended the second I realized I was dreaming. All I can remember from it was: I was driving a sports car (Jag XK-R) and out of no where I realized, wait, I don't own this car, and said to myself, I must be dreaming. No sooner did that sentence end, the car flipped into the air and crashed devastatingly and I immediately woke up. Anyone ever experience something like this? Like the dream ending as soon as you realize your dreaming? And would you actually consider that being lucid if it ended so abruptly?

Oh, yes, and yes. Haha, that happens plenty. Especially in the first lucids. Most likely from the shock and excitement. No worries, though, it will get better. So you got lucid from realizing something strange. Keep practicing RCs, mantras and awareness and you will have another one soon, I'm sure. And you definitelly were in a lucid dream. No matter how short, how much control or how foggy or detailed. If you realize you dreaming, you having a lucid, baby! Congrats!

That's awesome! I actually had another one since this post, but I can barely remember a thing about it. All I remember is realizing I was dreaming and walking up to the first person I could ask them a question. I can't remember who it was or what I asked, but it was so crazy making a conscious thought in a dream. I do remember that it didn't last long and despite trying to concentrate to stay in it, I ended up back in the dream and it took back control. It was a sweet experience though and I'll definitely keep working on what you said Thanks!
