Purposelessly sleep-depriving yourself is neither healthy or useful for lucid dreaming. Sure you can have an easier time inducing a WILD, but not only you're lowering your sleep quality by throwing your circadian clock out of window, which results in future nights of sleep with more N-REM (because your body will balance it at some point), but more importantly, you will subject yourself to tiredness, cognitive impairment, lack of concentration, among other negative factors, especially if you can't (like most of us) afford to sleep throughout the day.
The same rule applies to alcohol consumption: it will give you rem-rebound, but by no means it should be used a tool for lucid dreaming.
