      Crazy Lucid dream/Astral projection

This is from about a year ago, i haven't practiced astral projection/lucid dreaming for a long time because i just lost interest, i was getting criticized by all my friends for doing it. But my half-brother just came back and he is staying with me. I just found out that he has been practicing astral projection for a long time and he has been using the NEW method energy works stuff. I just started on the NEW method and it really works in opening your energy pathways and such. But anyway

      ON TO THE DREAM

Okay..i didn't even know i was dreaming at the time..that's how into this i was.. I was walking around my house and i did this method i had read on a website where you pull on your finger and if it stretches your dreaming and you will essentially astral project. So i did it and my body went limp..(this was in the dream still, remember i didn't know i was dreaming) Then i was in a dark place and i felt my astral body getting pulled from my physical body really harshly, it was so intense.

I was then in some desert, there were random dead trees and some really huge animal, cant remember what it was. I was like omg..where am i..i was freaking out..i had finally done it..got outside my body..i think i had astral projected to..somewhere...i don't know where though...I have heard of your astral guides bring you to places for reasons unknown and i think this is what mine had done. Anyway..i started exploring and i decided to fly to get a better view..so i flew up into the air with ease and starting going straight ahead when i saw these..spheres..idk..they had people..well...more like idk..little movies in them....I asked myself what they were..i then heard a voice from out of know where say..Bad dreams...i then proceeded to fall from the sky..i couldn't stop myself..i landed on the ground and proceeded to run. I started freaking out a little bit..didn't know what that was. So i tried to get back into my body..i felt myself go into my real body..but i was still where i was..like..i was in my body but i wasn't..I tried to open my eyes but the wouldn't open..they were stuck shut. I was so scared...i then basically forced my eyes open and sat straight up..

That's it..i was pretty like wowed that i had had such an awesome experience..i wanted to try to get your alls opinions on what exactly happened to me...and maybe where i went

I realize that this is pretty much a lucid dream forum..i just wanted to post this here to get your opinions on what this was. Some people say that it was just a lucid dream while others think that i actually astral projected

Hmmm, maybe this should go to the beyond dreaming forum, you'd get more anwsers there I think.
As for astral projection I never done one, and only had one LD (a not too vivid one), but I wandered how can you know if this is an astral projection, and not a dream. I mean if AP is like a dream, where EVERYTHING is possible, then how could you know? Especially because in a dream you are very gulliable.
So to sum it up, I'm also intrested in an anwser to the things you asked

So you pull your finger and you astral project? Well first off you don't astral project from a dream. And second, logically, if you would, you would just be dreaming that you astral project. And anyway, astral projection is just a certain form of lucid dream, it has been tested countless times and it's followers look ridiculous already. NEW works because it works the same way many lucid dreaming training methods work. It's essentially the same except they add a lot of hocus pocus, increasing the placebo effect and thereby the success rate.
And what you experienced is nothing mysterious in particular. I experience similar states. It's lucid half-sleep states, no need to add mystical stuff to it IMO. Adding mystical stuff is what some bush men might consider plausible.

      +1

Astral projection = hocus pocus. I started reading about that stuff and was quite amused at what people "thought" they were doing.

My take on Astral Projection is that it is basically like a lucid dreaming cult of followers. People that don't understand what's going on with their bodies and try to come up with some "new" reasoning behind it.

      -----------------------------------------------

Now to answer some questions about "where" you went.

You went somewhere in your subconcious. Your brain made up that place and you got to experience it. You didn't actually go anywhere as if in a geographical sense.

i vote for the hocus pocus thing too

i mean, without serius proof it's very unlikely to think about a soul going around...
i don't say it's ridicolous or impossible or so, it's simply very unlikely to be true!

(and for serius proof i mean something a little more scientific than shared dreams... which may be explained in a lot of ways)

I'll catch some sh** for this, but there is no proof behind Astral Projection other than corrupt human imagination.

I think that APs are just lucid dreams where the dreamer believes that he is still in reality and is walking around as a ghostly apparition.

The people who claim APs NOT to be true have nothing to prove because they haven't claimed anything!

"...kind of like the people that claimed the world wasn't round, and that you can't teach an animal something like simple grammar."

As sarcastic as that statement was, I can't say that I completely disagree with the rest of what you said.

I do not know of this being in any case physical.
An astral plane for which your conscious can travel.
The who, what when, where all all speculative.
Many think that remote viewing is a parallel to astral projection. Others believe that OBEs are a parallel to LDs.
And of coarse there are many beliefs different than those. That has seemed to be the general consensus.

One of the clearest and weirdest dreams I had was when I was flying behind a jeep that was driving on some plain after it had just rained, near some mountains. I then stopped and looked up the mountains, and all of a sudden, 1000's of pieces of cooked chicken came flying over the cliffs.

sure you can. so far I have only had OOBE's via dreams.

most of my OOBE's have not felt subjectively real to me. my first planned OOBE, however, felt very real, as real as realer than ordinary waking consciousness. I feel prepared to classify that experience and my first, spontaneous OOBE which I at first explaind away as a nightmare, as "real", though I don't feel much fussed either way. in one of these dream-like OOBE's, I actually discovered information that I later verified as true. coincidence, maybe, or clairovoyance?

my other OOBE's I would subjectively classify as nothing more than LD's.

I have no strong dogmas or belief either way. just saying how these experiences came off to me.
