      visiting the dead

      or the dead visiting you
On rare occasions I have had the pleasure of seeing friends and family that have died whilst dreaming, I felt no fear and could see that they are alright (seeing my grandad was the most amazing thing, he looked like pure health and hapiness), for me it seemed like either their way of communicating beyond what can't normally be comprehended, or it was my self coming to terms with what happened seeing that they are in a place where they can just be.

anyone else had any experiences similar or know about the spirit realm?

Yep! My first proper LD was triggered by someone who'd died a while ago. I now use this as a dream-sign, and had an LD triggered last night when I met the same person again!

Both of my grandparents died recently who I was very close to. I've had many subsequent dreams with them, but this does not mean they are messaging you from behind erm I mean beyond. The brain uses memories to create dreams. It's not that different from seeing a photograph.

The night that my boyfriend died I will never forget. It was a ...? dream. I called on him, not knowing anything about broken sashes. We did have a fun time touring the world, but then he disappeared in a mist, and I was really upset, not knowing what was going on, so I go back to bed....only to find out a few days later he died...
PS: He is not Cody, Cody is only my ...? dream playmate.

      How I miss him!! Gahh!!

I've called up my nan in a lucid dream before; it was a bit of a surreal experience. We hugged, it was nice to see her and she was pleased to see me. I asked how she was but she brushed the question aside and told me not to worry, that she was fine. She said it was nice to see me, but there was really nothing more to say as the life is for the living, not the dead - gave me a hug, then vanished.

It was al very down to earth!

As to if there's anything 'in' it more than memories brought to vivid life by a wonderful biological VR machine - I don't dwell on that. Maybe I did 'really' see my nan, maybe the dead can 'really' visit us in dreams, and maybe not, maybe they can't. At the end of the day, like my nan said, life is for the living; and eventually we all find out what happens after death .

Life is for the living, but to not question our own mortality is not a wise decision IMO. Yeah, its scary looking into the void, but no one here, no matter what you believe is more qualified to answer that question than anyone else. Facing your fears, especially the fear of death is, I think, empowering and liberating.

I've seen my great-grandfather in some nightmarish-type dreams .. I don't really know why - he was the sweetest old man.

Another deceased friend that visits me a few times a year is my golden retriever, Max. Its still nice to see him, even if it is in passing.

I have the occasional dream of someone who's passed on. Unfortunately I've lost many family members, so to dream of them is quite nice.

Usually, in these dreams, I have the nagging feeling that something is off but I never clue in that these are family members who have passes on. And most of the time they are shoving food at me and insisting that I eat something. But I rarely ever do.

Looking forward to realizing in dream that they are deceaced and then asking them a bunch of questions.

Like a couple others here, I very often dream of the dead. It is always pleasant.

I've had some rather bizarre experiences with them, too, like when my grandmother chastised me for my self-doubt.

I don't know what it is, and am somewhat afraid to over-analyze lest I either lose the connection or become concerned about what it is to the point it is no longer enjoyable.

It is something I am grateful for.

how about those who have had a near death experience? how about those rare and special medical cases where some one was clinically dead for hours. nothing ticking in the old brain. yet when they wake up again, they remember. they remember a lot of things! I think they are the most qualified
