I have yet to LD but that's one of the main things I've really been wanting to do. I think I got the idea from some posts around here...

As a general rule I never open doors in LDs. I posted about it a long time ago--I think the thread was called "Things You'd Never do in an LD" or something. Anyway, I've always blown the doors to pieces, walked through them, made more convienient, new doors in the walls via explosives, etc. But the general sensation of floating through a solid object in a dream is definitely interesting.

I've not done that specifically, but I've done similar things...Like walking through walls. It was a neat experience.

Walking through a glass door was the first thing I did in the first LD I ever had. It was a spontaneous LD, so the "let's test out my control" was not the motive - I just wanted out of the weird locked, glass cubicle I was in and directly through the door seemed the easiest option. I've had some trouble trying to walk through mirrors, though.

I walk through doors/walls/windows and float through ceilings/floors all the time when I'm lucid. Honestly it's one of the strangest sensations I've ever experienced, and I love doing it.

...but then, I've also gotten stuck halfway through the walls/ceilings a few times....and that sucks.....A Lot.

I've never walked through a wall, but last night in a non-lucid dream I stuck my arm though my back and made it come out my belly ( i was doing a street magic trick). It didn't hurt but I felt the inside of my body and it was very weird. When I took my arm out of my body there was an open scar and I busted an ET and healed myself with my finger.

That was one of the coolest things thats ever happened in a non-lucid

Why? you could use it to your advantage, use the unknown behind the door to spawn a new location, object or person. Its kind of like when you use the phone in an LD to call someone over.

Now that you mention it, I've never encountered a closed door in a lucid, or at least I don't think I have. They have always been open ready.

Here's an idea that I got from an advert, carry a door handle, and use it to open any thing, like stick it too a wall or something. Or stick it to nothing, just air, see if you can open that.

I had a dream long time ago, where I was in control, but not aware I was dreaming (what the?).
In the dream, I could walk through stuff and I could jump really high. I was fighting some people, and it gave me a cool feeling, when they tried to hit me, and I just stepped backwards, through a wall or a door.
Now, one of the awkward things were, that when I walked through the wall, a typical graphic error from video-games appeared. Very weird.
After maybe 10 minutes of walking through stuff, I had almost control of the entire dream, though I did still not realize it was a dream. I therefor forgot how to walk through walls. Which was annoying. This has also happened where I was able to teleport, fly, shoot fireballs and such. I often wake up after that.

Funny thing is, that you can actually be in total control in a dream, without realizing that it is a dream.

In one of my FIRST LD's,there was a mirror in my living room, propped up against a wall.

To make a long story short I stuck my arm into the mirror,it didn't come out the other side,I jumped into another world. I ended up flying and appeared back into my living room, only to dive into the other world again.

Yes,it is a weird sensation! It was very unpleasent,I don't want to do it again...Just typing about it makes me feel sick.
