Thread: Lucidity Level Up!

OK, last night I started writing in my dream journal and I must say it really does help. It even allowed me to recall some of my other dreams that I don't remember.

Anyway, I recorded about seven dreams I believe (not sure what exactly what counts as one dream, I say seven in terms of seven different dream environments). In one of them, my friend and I were going to kill mummies. On our way to the tomb I had the feeling of deja vu and I said

"Hey... something strange is going on here, I think I might be drea--"

"You're a moron," my friend interrupts. "Come on! Those mummies aren't going to kill themselves!"

"OK!"

And then we continued on to kill mummies and I continued on with my other six dreams. OK so maybe I didn't become lucid, but I sure was close.

Damn...I don't even know if that's lucidity or not. I mean, normally you're lucid or you're not, but this time you said, "I think I might be drea--", and got cut off. Did you dwell on the though of maybe being dreaming, or not? If you did, then you were very low-level lucidity, but if you just let it pass without finishing the sentence even in your head then you weren't. First time I've seen an example like this where the was I lucid question doesn't have an obvious answer if you actually know the definition. But yeah, DJing definitely helps in recall, and attaining Lucidity. I wouldn't say you remembered 7 dreams though, more like 7 dreamscapes, as to me a dream is a full thing that is connected, without either waking up or having the dream trail off to a totally new thing, so if you were in china, and then randomly ended up in Japan, then you would still be in the same dream in my opinion. But 7 dreamscapes is great too. Nothing to complain about, especially for a first time.

youre a moron? ur freind sounds like a jerk... a really cool jerk. "these mummies arent going to kill themselves!" thats sweet! that sounds like something Jesus would say! Jk,JK. but anyway yur freind really screwed u over on the lucidity thing huh? but maybe next time.

As a more serious response, you're almost there. Just keep asking that question, am I dreaming? And be persistent about it, in real life too. If it ever crosses your mind, immediatly follow it up with an RC. Looking at your hand and counting the number of fingers, or just looking if your hand looks normal (I frequently have things like one really long finger or two stuck together) makes for a quick and easy RC that's always possible. If you don't allow yourself to be distracted in real life, you will do the same thing in your dreams.

I think Gil is the currency in Final Fantasy games.

Yeah, your getting really close and should definitely keep it up. I don't really think it counted as lucid, though. =\

Also, I think you should call your friend up and be like, "Dude, in my dream we were killing mummies together and I almost figured out I was dreaming which would have been super cool except you interrupted me and I forgot. Just called to let you know my subconscious interpretation of you is that you're a dick and I think you owe me an apology."
