      dream guides are they real?

I didn't believe in dream guides until I met mine. He/she is a golden phoenix, from here on out I will refer to her as a she because while I'm not entirely sure of the sex I'm leaning toward female she is absolutely beautiful and so mysterious she asked me weather our experiences shape us or we shape our experiences? Instead of answering her I asked who are you and she got irritated and threw me off the cloud
has anyone else met their dream guide do they exist or are they just interesting dcs?

I don't believe in them personally, since when you dream you simply converse with your subconscious, and this idea of a dream guide insinuates that you can talk to something other than your subconscious; which I don't believe you can. This is all predicated on the theories of meeting 'others' in dreams, be it a DG, Shared dreaming or what have you.

      But each to their own.

LOL.. sounds like your dream guide was PMSing! :p

Yes, I've met my dream guide(s) or the dream character(s) that appeared when I called out for my dream guide.

Whether dream guides are "real" or not.. it's still a very cool experience to meet one!

I think for some people, their dream guide is actually their subconscious taking on a form of some kind in the dream, and for other people, it's just a recurring DC.

I think this is one of those open ended questions like "do we really astrally travel". It's all on the beliefs of the individual and their religion, spirituality etc. To each his/her own I say. I've met who I thought were sprit guides. They spoke really cryptic. Example: This was before my daughter was born, I asked my spirit guide if it were a boy or girl. The guide replied "stand and deliver" OH geez thanks!

I've heard lots of stories like that. Is that guides have some interplane way of thinking or is it our subconcious doing a number on ourselves? Time will tell hopefully.

I didn't know I had made such a hot topic I had another lucid while I was off-line in which I answered my dream guide this is what I said "our past experiences shape the present at the same time our current circumstances are teaching us new things so a little of both" she said "very well reasoned are you ready for the next phase of your journey?"I said of course but first I have a lot of questions for you she replied "very wellyou may ask me any three things you wish" I was shocked I was like "can I get back to you" and then I woke up

I'm leaving the details of the dream in short but I found out that I was staying at a house that was about to have a big drug deal go down and the police knew about it. Therefore, I realized I woudn't ever be in a situation like this I became lucid. I decided to ask one of my dream characters who they were and what they represented in my sub-concious mind. When I ask my sub-concious mind these sorts of questions I usually get cryptic answers back. This one character said that he "represented my resources!" I'm not quite sure what he meant but I find it interesting.

In a recent dream I was in the underground tunnels of a white futuristic city, hovering through them at amazing speed on an airbed. Here's a DJ excerpt:

When we went through the tunnel system for the third time we approached a crossing. A yellow arrow on the ground pointed left, but I went right. My airbed deflated and we stopped. I had to inflate it by blowing it up. So as I stood there trying to inflate my airbed, a man approached me who wasnt wearing a pink disappearing bra. (Don't ask.) He said to me "you're late", disapprovingly. I asked him "did we agree to meet here?" He laughed, said "no", turned his back and I woke up.

I had slept through my alarm and I was late for work. Dreamguide or subconscious, I don't know. But it's fascinating. It's like I wanted to keep dreaming (inflating the airbed) but the man wouldn't let me.

P.S. phoenelai, I love Sigur Ros. Saw them live, one of the best gigs ever.
How I discover what my dreams are about

In my last lucid dream I made pink sparks between my palms. I was trying to make a white ball of energy...

I think they exist, though I have yet to meet mine. Maybe I'll remember to search for him/her in my next LD.

Isn't a dream guide just a tangible representation of your subconscious? It's like talking to yourself in disguise.

Is this girl with dark black hair that has lately been in my non-lucid dreams and my first lucid dream my dream guide or just a dream character? I only began to see her after I asked "if I have a dream guide can you help me realize I'm dreaming?" It's a strange feeling... like I know her in reality when I actually don't.

This doesn't really mean much, but two people I knew in high school dreamt of my DGs. (Then again, people dream of other people's characters all the time). I only brought up I communicated with my DGs in dreams to help me.

What was really strange was I never told them what my DGs looked like, but they were able to describe my DGs accurately. I never told them that after hearing their dreams though.

I think Dream Guides are just forms of your higher self.

I think the simple answer is, like most things in dreams...if you beleive they do, they do. But nothing that occurs in your dreams is more than exactly that...a dream guide, if you want it to, can guide you through some deep, otherwise, difficult to access thoughts...perhaps influenced by your everyday life, since your used to someone guiding you.- You can probably make any DC your DG if you beleive you can...give it a try...could be quite profound.
