I went lucid last night!! Why do I see through my eye lids though?

So I had a dream about a chipmunk that was the size of a eraser (standard earser on a pencil) that kept looking at me, and then it went away. I started looking for it then I said man, do chipmunks get this small? This is kinda weird, then I said "dude you could be dreaming" and I was like "yea man this is a lucid dream" and as soon as I realised that things started getting blurry and fading, then I remembered how everyone talks about looking at your hands to gain lucidity back, so I did that and things started getting clear, and my hands like were shinning with gold and all, and like half invisible and it was crazy looking, lol.

So I started getting back lucidty but it kept trying to go blurry, so I started to spin around to see if that would help, but that just made me lose lucidity and I felt a warping sensation and I kinda zap into maybe a false awakening, im not too sure though. Something that always happens to me when I almost get lucid is I can see through my eyes, and like see my eyelids...and I think if I open my eyes I will wake up but in reality im in a dream yet I think im half awake and half dreaming, this ever happen to anyone?

This kind of happened to me during my first LD. I could see half-dream world and half-real world. I think I opened my eyes in the real world and I was seeing my dream fade away in my mind's eye.

Yeh that happens to me. I think the problem is you get too excited. Of course it's natural! But you have to quiet your emotions, at least while you're starting out. For some reason getting too excited usually makes the dream fade. Probably the same reason you usually wake up after a wet one
