Lucid - Unable to wake up

After having a lucid dream, I searched Google and ended up here. It went like this.

I am in my room and I am not doing much (can't remember). At one moment I realize that I am dreaming, and I want to wake up! (quite the contrary to what most people I have seen try to do on this forum). The reason for trying to awake was that everything had a slightly tense/scary feel.
I first tried to wake myself by concentrating "wake up". This failed. I then tried slapping my open hands against my thighs (I was laying down in bed in the dream at this point). I slapped my thighs as hard as I could, but there was no pain, in fact there was basically no feeling at all, only the slightest tingle, as if I was very lightly moving a finger on it (which is the reason I tried to hit harder!).

Next, I tried slapping my face. The same thing happened. I felt a slight feeling that I was touching my face, but no pain was there that should have been (slapping my face at full strength).

After slapping for a while I managed to wake up. However, when I woke up, the state that I was in was "barely awake". I was extremely tired when I awoke. It was like when somebody wakes you (with a sound) when you are very tired, and you just roll to the other side and continue sleeping.

That is exactly what I did. I fell asleep again.
I again realized that I was dreaming. This time I did a test. I tried to turn on a lamp that I knew did not work. It turned on. Again I tired to wake myself using the above mentioned methods.
I then "falsely awoke". I got up out of bed and looked across the room. There was no wall there! Just something that looked like space. (this made things easy, I instantly knew it was a dream). I continued to try to wake myself, and finally did.
Next thing I did was search Google and find this site!

By the way. This dream was after I had slept for around five hours, gotten up out of bed to drink something, and returned to bed. I have read of this significance (getting 5-6 hours of sleep before lucid dreaming) before coming to this site.

After today, I think I will try to do it on purpose, with your guidance and tips of course
